    摘要: Apparatus for extended-reach remediation of a pond by removal of pumpable materials such as deposited sediment has a base and a rotatable multi-articulated boom to which a pump is connected at the distal end. The boom has a reach which exceeds the reach of conventional remediation apparatus and may be as long as 50 m or greater for reaching over obstacles between the base and the pond. The base can be stationary or it can be mobile or self-propelled for repositioning the apparatus about the perimeter of the water body or to platforms which are built within the pond and accessible by accessways when the pond is filled with water. The pump is lightweight so as not to affect the overall apparatus stability when the boom is fully extended. Geo-locating apparatus assists with mapping the remediation operation. Further, additional accessories can be connected to the end of the boom, such as fluid jets for controlling the fluid properties of the pumpable materials and a blender for shredding vegetation or other non-pumpable materials to render them pumpable.

    摘要: An efficient dredging device is disclosed, which includes a submersible pump having one or more chambers. Each chamber defines an air port through which air can be delivered to and exhausted from the chamber, and a material discharge port for discharging liquid and solid material from the chamber. A check valve is associated with the discharge port to prohibit the return of discharged material to the chamber. A chamber suction port admits liquid and solid material to the chamber, and a check valve prohibits the escape of material from the chamber through the suction port. Air control means are provided for cyclicly exhausting air from the chamber to admit material to the chamber through the suction port, and for delivering air to the chamber so as to discharge material from the chamber through the discharge port. A rotatable cutter member cuts material to be dredged, and pipes connect the cutter to the chamber discharge port. A vacuum system is provided to reduce air pressure inside the chamber to less than one atmosphere so as to permit the dredge pump to work in very shallow water. This vacuum system can include a jet pump connected to a compressed air source. The pump vessel is suspended from a kelly bar, and the kelly bar is engaged by a torque fork to inhibit bar and pump chamber rotation and other movement during pump operation.

    摘要: Reversely forcing water through a recovery head closes a valve in an intake tube and jets water out of the bottom of the head, burrowing the head downward along a guide pipe deep into a sand deposit. Crusher rollers at a sand intake break large objects, and sand flows through a control valve into a mixing box at the bottom of the head. Water flows downward through a tube into the mixing box, and a slurry is drawn out by a suction pump at the end of a long flexible tube. The slurry is discharged on a sand accumulation point. After a large crater-like volume of sand is removed, the head is moved by lifting it with a drum-like crane, which is controlled by selectively balancing air and water within the drum.
