    摘要: An excavation apparatus is disclosed. The excavation apparatus includes a chassis having a length that extends from a front end to a rear end of the chassis. The chassis also has a width oriented perpendicular to the length. A boom is pivotally attached to the rear end of the chassis. A cutting component mounted to the boom. A shroud structure at least partially covers the cutting component. A source of vacuum is in fluid communication with an interior of the shroud structure for drawing air containing dust from the interior of the shroud structure. A filter filters the air drawn from the interior of the shroud structure by the source of vacuum. A dust barrier projects downwardly from the shroud structure and extends along at least a portion of a perimeter of the shroud structure. The dust barrier has a construction that is pervious to debris generated by the cutting component and that provides gradually reduced restriction to inward air flow through the dust barrier as the dust barrier extends downwardly from the shroud structure.

The apparatus is characterized in that the anchoring means comprise a plurality of deformable elements (40) secured to said main faces (32, 32null) of the top frame (10), and means for injecting a fluid under pressure into said inflatable elements so that said inflatable elements apply a force between said main frame (10) and the walls of the trench, and means enabling said fluid under pressure to escape from said inflatable elements whereby no force is transmitted between said main frame and the walls of the trench.

    摘要: A bidirectional excavator capable of excavating a predetermined swath of earth while moving in a forward or rearward longitudinal direction. The excavator includes a rotatable excavator wheel that operates to disengage and move loosened earth to a centrally located transverse conveyor belt. The belt carries the loosened material to one side of the excavator. Retractable crumbing blades are located on both forward and rearward sides of the excavator wheel. Each is selectively operable to be lowered to an operative position adjacent to the wheel with regard to the selected direction of movement for the machine. The lowered crumbing blade serves to gather and maintain material sloughed from the wheel against the wheel so it may be eventually carried to the discharge conveyor. When it is desired to move the excavator in an opposite direction, the operative crumbing blade is retracted and the previously inoperative plate is extended to its operative position. Design of the excavator wheel is such that it may be rotated in the same direction regardless of directional movement of the machine. Thus, the machine is capable of moving along an elongated path in a forward direction taking a prescribed swath of earth as it goes, and subsequently moving in an opposite direction in order to take the next successive swath.

The flexible motor mount also includes a first pair of spherical connection joints aligned along a first pivot axis and a second pair of spherical connection joints aligned along a second pivot axis. The first and second pivot axes are generally perpendicular relative to one another. The flexible motor mount further includes a component mounting plate attached to the motor housing and an intermediate plate coupled to the component mounting plate by the first pair of spherical connection joints. The intermediate plate is also coupled to the boom by the second pair of spherical connection joints.

    摘要: A level boom is provided for a piece of strip mining equipment traveling on caterpillar-type chassis, which piece of equipment is temporarily moved on oblique roadways during operation. The position of the boom in relation to the skeletal structure is corrected with simple means. A piece of strip mining equipment with a boom, which can be lifted and lowered and at the free end of which, e.g., a bucket wheel for picking up a load is arranged, is connected to the substructure of the piece of equipment in a pivot axis. The lifting movement is brought about by a lifting cylinder. A tilting support, which carries the boom, is arranged in the pivot axis for lifting and lowering the boom. A bolt connection is provided on one side in the pivot axis for leveling between the tilting support and the boom, and the actuating element for leveling as well as a step bearing for absorbing lateral forces which the actuating element is unable to absorb, are located on the other side. Since the actuating element for lifting and lowering the boom is arranged in the pivot axis for leveling, no additional support elements are needed.
