Abstract:
A press apparatus is disclosed for removing water from a web that has been supported on an upstream forming wire. The press apparatus includes a first roll which cooperates with the forming wire for transferring the web from the forming wire to the first roll, the first roll being a suction roll. A second roll is disposed downstream relative to the first roll, the second roll cooperating with the first roll for defining therebetween a first nip for the removal of a first portion of the water from the web during passage of the web through the first nip. The second roll is a suction roll. A third roll is disposed downstream relative to the second roll, the third roll cooperating with the second roll for defining therebetween a second nip for the removal of a second portion of the water from the web during passage of the web through the second nip. The third roll is a plain roll. A looped first press felt extends around the first roll and through the first nip such that the first press felt supports the web from the forming wire to the first nip, the first press felt being disposed between the web and the first roll from the forming wire to the first nip. Also, a looped second press felt extends around the second roll and through the first nip such that the second press felt supports the web from the first nip to the second nip, the second press felt being disposed between the web and the second roll from the first nip to the second nip.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for dewatering a fibrous web with a press zone which is formed by a mating element with a curved surface and a permeable press belt which wraps at least partially around the curved surface and has a running side and a contact side contacting a second side of the fibrous web. A permeable carrier belt arranged between the mating element and the fibrous web guides the fibrous web through the press zone. The device is configured so a fluid can flow through the press belt, the fibrous web, and the permeable carrier belt at least in a part region of the press zone. The permeable press belt is configured to generate a pressing pressure in the press zone when a tensile stress of at least 20 kN/m is applied and the contact side is adapted to a quality of the fibrous web produced.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an arrangement arranged to introduce a three-dimensional structure in a paper during production of said paper in a paper making machine (1). The arrangement comprises a heat roll (14) arranged to dry a wet paper web and an extended nip roll (12) arranged to form a transfer nip (TN) with said heat roll (14). The extended nip roll (12) is provided with a flexible jacket (17) arranged around the circumferential area of said extended nip roll (12). An external surface of said flexible jacket (17) is provided with a textured portion (15) and when the wet paper web passes the transfer nip between said extended nip roll (12) and said heat roll (14), said textured portion (15) of the external surface of the flexible jacket (17) will impart a three-dimensional texture to the paper web.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for forming a fire retardant-treated fiber product is provided. A first nip is defined by a pair of juxtaposed processing members, and is configured to receive a fiber product therethrough. At least one of the processing members comprises an incisor member extending from a processing surface thereof, and interacting with and altering a surface of the fiber product directed through the first nip. A second nip is defined by a pair of juxtaposed compression members, and is configured to receive the fiber product therethrough. Compression surfaces of the compression members cooperate to compress the surface of the fiber product within an elastic range associated therewith. At least one of the first and second nip is arranged to receive a fire retarding solution such that the fiber product is interacted therewith at least upon entering the at least one of the first and second nip.

Abstract:
This invention relates to a dewatering device for dewatering a material web (5), particularly a tissue web, in a paper machine where the dewatering device is placed after a forming unit (16) and before a thermal drying device (11). The dewatering device consists of a press roll (1) with a press belt (3) running round it. Here, the material web (5) is carried into the dewatering device either on a water-absorbing belt (4) or on a wire (10). The water-absorbing belt (4) is placed in the dewatering device between the material web (5) and the press belt (3). This invention also relates to a dewatering process performed with the dewatering device.
Abstract:
System for drying a tissue or hygiene web. The system includes a permeable structured fabric carrying the web over a drying apparatus. A permeable dewatering fabric contacts the web and is guided over the drying apparatus. A mechanism is used to apply pressure to the permeable structured fabric, the web, and the permeable dewatering fabric at the drying apparatus. This Abstract is not intended to define the invention disclosed in the specification, nor intended to limit the scope of the invention in any way.
Abstract:
A paper machine having a forming fabric with a paper side plurality of weft and warp yarns interwoven to form a layer contacting a paper web. A plurality of weft and warp yarns are interwoven to form a machine side layer for the forming fabric. A plurality of warp binder yarns are interlaced with the paper side and machine side yarns to form a multiple layered forming fabric. The weft yarns in the machine side layer are greater in diameter than the warp yarns for maintaining width stability of the fabric. The fabric is characterized by high permeability, high void volume and a high Beran's Fiber Support Index.
