Abstract:
A nonwoven wipe having a reversible sanitizer indicator for multiple uses and recharges is provided. The nonwoven wipe includes a cloth-like nonwoven fabric coated with a reversible color-changing ink formulation. During use, the nonwoven wipe is impregnated with a quaternary ammonium compound-based sanitizer. When the level of free quaternary ammonium compound falls below a threshold level, the color-changing ink formulation changes from a first color to a second color, indicating the need to recharge the wipe. When the nonwoven wipe is recharged with sanitizer solution, the color-changing ink formulation changes back to the first color.
Abstract:
An adjuvant composition comprising (A) a C1-C2carboxylic acid ester of a polyhydroxy compound containing from 2 to 20 hydroxyl groups and (B) an N-heterocyclic compound having a pKa, value of from 6 to 8 is storage-stable and suitable as an acid donor in the dyeing of polyamides.
Abstract:
A method comprising applying a composition to a textile material with a composition comprising (A) from 10 to 90% by weight of at least one C6- to C18-alkyl ester or C5- to C8-cycloalkyl ester of 2-cyano-3,3-diphenylacrylic acid and (B) from 90 to 10% by weight of at least one compound which has at least one UV absorption maximum in the range from 280 nm to 450 nm and is different from compound (A) to thereby obtain an impregnated textile material comprising the composition.
Abstract:
Process for increasing the sun protection factor of cellulosic fibre materials by treating the cellulosic fibre materials with at least one direct dye and at least one UV absorber.
Abstract:
Process for the continuous production of surface dyeings on cellulose fiber textile materials, characterized in that the textile materials are treated with an aqueous liquor containing at least 5 g/l of benzyl halide quaternized condensation products of precondensates of trialkanolamines and ureas, cyclic carbonates and/or epihalohydrins and/or benzyl chloride quaternized condensation products of piperazine and epichloronydrin, and 0.02 to 1 g/l of a phosphoric triester whose alcohol component has 6 to 18 carbon atoms, the textile materials thus treated are then dyed in another bath with reactive dyes in an aqueous medium and the dyes are fixed by treatment with an alkaline aqueous liquor and the dyeing finished in conventional manner. The individual cellulose fibers of the textile material are not completely penetrated by the dye but, on the contrary, exhibit ring dyeing.
Abstract:
A process for preparing a dyed fabric material having an increased lightfastness of at least 600 hours. The process includes the steps of immersing the dyed fabric in an aqueous solution of a cinnamate ester, removing the fabric from solution and drying the fabric.

Abstract:
A waterless dip dye composition for apparel- and textile-related articles comprises an aromatic ester of the formula ArCOOR.sub.2, ArCOO--R.sub.1 --OOCAr or (ArCOO).sub.z --R.sub.3, wherein R.sub.1 is alkylene of 2-8 carbon atoms or polyoxyalkylene of the formula --C.sub.r H.sub.2r (OC.sub.r H.sub.2r).sub.s, in which r is 2 or 3 and s is 1 to 15; R.sub.2 is substituted or unsubstituted alkyl or alkenyl of 8-30 carbon atoms; R.sub.3 is the residue of a polyhydric alcohol having z hydroxyl groups; Ar is substituted or unsubstituted mono- or bicyclic aryl of up to 15 carbon atoms and z is 3-6, admixed with at least 0.5% by weight of a dyeing assistant agent and an organic colorant.A process for coloring apparel- and textile-related articles, fabricated from polyester, polyamide, polyurethane, acrylic, halogenated polyolefin or epoxy plastic, comprises exposing an article to the foregoing compositions, maintained at at a temperature between 100.degree. C. and the temperature at which the plastic is degraded, for a time adequate to achieve the desired degree of coloration.
