The present disclosure relates to a washing machine having a means capable of improving a washing effect by efficiently increasing the concentration of detergent in wash water that contains the detergent sprayed in the laundry, and the washing machine comprises: a cabinet; a tub which is accommodated in said cabinet, and accommodates wash water therein; a drum which is installed in said tub to be rotated, an accommodates the laundry; a sump which is equipped on the lower part of said tub such that the wash water is collected; a drain chamber which is connected to the lower part of a drain formed on a bottom surface of said sump, and in which the wash water drained from said drain is temporarily stored; a pump which circulates the wash water drained from said drain chamber; and a drain-side circulation flow path which forms a path in which the wash water circulates between said drain chamber and said pump.

The invention provides a method for cleaning a soiled substrate, the method comprising the treatment of the moistened substrate with a formulation comprising a multiplicity of polymeric particles, wherein the polymeric particles are applied in combination with a detergent formulation, the method being characterised in that the detergent formulation is divided into its sepcrate chemical constituents and these chemical constituents are added at different times during the wash cycle. The method allows for improved cleaning with reduced overall chemical loading, and facilitates addition of the more expensive parts of the formulations when they are most effective for cleaning performance, thereby providing considerable cost savings in comparison with conventional all-in-one detergent formulations. A method for cleaning the polymeric particles is also provided.

A drainage structure of a washing machine has a central hole at the inner tub bottom of the washing machine, and an annular groove is arranged around the central hole; the inner part and the outer part of the inner tub communicate with a water flow passage on the annular groove, and the annular groove has a sealing member capable of reciprocating motion for controlling the on-off state of the water flow passage. The upper part of the sealing member has an elastic member for controlling the downward movement of the sealing member to contact the inner tub bottom and/or the bottom surface of the annular groove, and the lower part of the sealing member has a driving member for controlling the upward movement of the sealing member to separate from the inner tub bottom and/or the bottom surface of the annular groove.

A fabric treating appliance includes a rotatable basket defining a treating chamber for receiving a load of laundry items for treatment. A float valve can be incorporated into the basket structure, selectively opening or closing the valve based upon the liquid level in a tub. As liquid fills the tub, the float valve will rise until it moves into a closed position, permitting the basket and treating chamber to fill with liquid. As the tub drain, the float valve can fall, opening the valve and permitting liquid to drain from the basket or treating chamber. The opened or closed positions can be selectively operated by opening or closing a pump or sump and allowing a tub to drain or fill, respectively.

A washing machine having a simple, leak-tight drain line that can be easily assembled on the wash tub of the washing machine is disclosed. The washing machine includes a valve part that is connected to the wash tub in a sealed fashion and designed in one piece together with the wash tub. The valve part has a drain valve, an outlet connection having a drain opening, and a pipe part connected to the outlet connection and to a drain pump for water transfer. The drain valve can float in the wash water and is moveably disposed inside the valve part to seal the drain opening when wash water is located inside the wash tub and when the drain pump is idle, and to open the drain opening when no wash water is located inside the wash tub and when the drain pump is operating.
