摘要: A distillation and dehydration system is provided that produces an anhydrous organic solvent. The provided system includes vapor recompression (e.g., a mechanical or thermal vapor recompression unit) to recover heat from a rectification-distillation section (e.g., a rectifier/stripper column). The addition of vapor recompression enables further heat recovery within a stream by increasing the condensation temperature and pressure of that stream and later using its latent heat by condensing it.

摘要: One embodiment of the present invention is a nested fermentation method for making a beverage, such as an alcoholic or non-alcoholic beer, a wine, or the like, the method comprising the steps of: creating a fermented wort solution, wherein creating the fermented wort solution comprises performing a first fermentation process on a first wort; creating a distilled wort, wherein creating the distilled wort comprises removing an initial portion of alcohol and an initial portion of water from the fermented wort solution; and creating a concentrated fermented wort solution, wherein creating the concentrated fermented wort solution comprises adding additional fermentation ingredients to the distilled wort and performing a second fermentation process on the additional fermentation ingredients to the distilled wort.

摘要: A process for producing a distilled ethanol product comprising an antioxidant component and an ethanol component is described. In the process, plant matter containing antioxidants is washed, frozen and exposed to an input volume of ethanol. Antioxidants are ethanolically extracted from the frozen plant matter. The plant matter and the liquid ethanol fractions are then separated and the plant matter having antioxidants extracted therefrom is used to produce ethanol which is subsequently used to extract antioxidants from a second batch of plant matter. The ethanol fraction having antioxidants therein is stored or diluted for later use.

摘要: Modular ethanol distillation units housed within one or two shipping containers and ethanol distillation units that include an evaporative plate located inside a distillation tank to promote evaporation of the ethanol. Modular distillation units housed within shipping containers are easily transported and set up in remote locations where suitable feed stocks are available or can be cultivated to supply the unit and to distill ethanol for local use or export. Distillation units include feedstock storage tanks, a mixing chamber, fermentation tanks, and a distillation system/tank, which can all be located within one or two shipping containers. Evaporative plates can include holes therethrough, dimples, troughs, or a combination thereof, and holes can be located within dimples.
