Abstract:
A mounting flange having an insert with an exposed flange, an insert channel wall extending from the exposed flange, the channel wall defining an inner surface and an outer surface; and an anchor with an anchor flange, an anchor channel wall extending from the anchor flange, the channel wall defining an inner surface and an outer surface. One of the inner surface and outer surface of the insert channel wall defines a plurality of teeth and one of the inner surface and outer surface of the anchor channel wall defines a plurality of teeth for threaded engagement with the teeth defined on the insert channel wall.
Abstract:
Kegs of beer may be connected in parallel alongside one or more valves that connect to a flushing fluid supply. When a beer is selected, the associated beer valve opens so that beer can be dispensed. After a pour is completed, the system automatically flushes the beverage tubing line clean by opening a flushing fluid valve, allowing flushing fluid to cleanse the line. This flushing of the line enables the system to dispense a beer from a recently flushed line for each pour, and/or dispense many different beers because leftovers of a beer from an earlier pour do not contaminate the line for later pours. The system is also configured to measure the time poured based on information from a sensor in a dispenser (e.g., a tap handle). The time poured and a measured flow rate are used to calculate the total price to charge a customer for the beer.
Abstract:
Various apparatus and systems for chilled beverage dispensing are disclosed. The beverage dispenser can be configured such that any surface that the dispensed beverage is in contact with during the dispensing process is refrigerated to the appropriate temperature. In some examples, the beverage dispenser can extend from and retract into a refrigerated source. In some examples, the beverage dispenser can be built into a refrigeration system.
Abstract:
A dispensing unit for dispensing a beverage from a pressurized container having a tapping column fixed to and extending normal to the top surface of a top plate with an opening and forming an elbow is disclosed. The column has an elongated inner channel bringing in fluid communication the support plate with a tapping pinch valve located in a tapping head at the elbow. The tapping pinch valve has jaws for receiving in pinching relationship the outlet end of the dispensing line and controlling flow of liquid by varying the distance between the jaws from a closed to an open position. A flexible dispensing line, having inlet and outlet ends, extends in the channel. The outlet end engages the pinch valve, and the inlet end connects to a keg. A device for opening the channel includes the pinch valve so a distance larger than the open position separates the jaws.
Abstract:
Apparatuses and methods are described herein that allow a tap handle to be quickly and easily reoriented or replaced after being attached to a spigot. In an embodiment, an adjustment mechanism for a beverage tap handle includes a connecting element and a housing. The connecting element includes a stem and a first mating feature, and the housing includes an aperture to receive the stem and a second mating feature configured to mate with the first mating feature. The housing and the connecting element are (i) rotatable with respect to each other about a central axis of the stem when the first mating feature and second mating feature are not mated, and (ii) prevented from rotating with respect to each other about the central axis of the stem when the first mating feature and the second mating feature are mated.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a system for simultaneously dispensing liquids from multiple sources, wherein the liquids are released through a single spout and are mixed together during the dispensing process. The disclosure further discloses an adaptor that has a dispensing aperture, a body, and first and second members that actuate the spouts substantially simultaneously to allow fluid flow between the first and second liquid sources and the first and second tap spouts through the adaptor body and out the dispensing aperture, which may have a spout. The invention also relates to a method for simultaneous dispensing and mixing of liquids. The liquids may have substantially the same or substantially different viscosities and may be mixed in equal or different volumes. The invention has particular applicability to bag-in-box systems.
Abstract:
A dispensing assembly having a container containing a liquid to be dispensed and a dispensing tube bringing in fluid communication with ambient the volume inside the container containing the liquid. The dispensing tube has a flexible, resilient portion ending in an outlet of diameter, D, and is engaged in a pinch valve system. The pinch valve system has a squeezing member suitable for squeezing and obturating a section of the flexible portion located at a distance, h, from the outlet. The ratio, h/D, of the distance, h, to the outlet diameter, D, is not more than 2, preferably, not more than 1.5, more preferably, not more than 1.0.
Abstract:
An automated liquid dispensing system for dispensing a pressurized liquid through a feed line includes a pressure sensing device having a sensing component provided in the feed line for sensing the pressure of the liquid. A pour control center is provided in the feed line. A smart director is electrically connected to the pressure sensing device and to the pour control center for continually and selectively actuating the pour control center in response to input from the sensing device.
Abstract:
A handle for a beverage dispensing tap that incorporates a feature that permits a protective cap from the Barnes neck of a malt beverage keg to be attached for the purpose of identifying the beverage being dispensed.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a faucet for tapping a liquid stored under pressure of a gas in a container that has less moving parts subject to wear or breakage, and has a housing made of multiple parts which can be disassembled so the faucet mechanism can be easily cleaned, repaired, or replaced. The faucet mechanism contains a piece of flexible tubing and an arrangement of a pinch roller valve mechanism that compresses the flexible tubing to shut off flow of liquid through the tubing. In one arrangement of the present invention, since the housing does not move and does not come in contact with the beverage being poured, the housing is made of a non-metallic material, such as a plastic or petroleum-based material, which is less expensive than the previous brass or stainless steel housing.
