    摘要: A billet grab includes opposed grips that are movable toward or away from one another in a direction perpendicular to their lengths. One grip is provided with a plurality of identical cams pivotally mounted on it to engage the ends of billets or other objects having identical or slightly varying lengths and arranged side by side in a row. The inwardly biased cams accommodate the varying lengths of the billets or objects, which can then be lifted as a group. Frictional engagement between the inner cam surfaces and the ends of the billets or other objects assure proper gripping of each billet or object in the row as it is being lifted and handled. The cams are disengaged by spreading the grips apart from one another.

    摘要: A steel mill system includes a metallurgical furnace and a further processing system such as a continuous casting system and/or one or more stations for treatment of the steel melt. At least one steel ladle is loaded with steel melt below the metallurgical furnace and is moved between the metallurgical furnace and the further processing system. The steel melt is then emptied into the further processing system. In the region of its upper half, the steel ladle is equipped with a carrying mechanism which includes diametrically oppositely disposed running wheels. The steel ladle is movable in a suspended position between the metallurgical furnace, and the further processing system on rails which are adapted to the carrying mechanism.

    摘要: A crane hoist height signal system has a trolley mounted grooved cable drum with a pulse generator and a tensioned constant torque spring motor mounted on the drum shaft. A cable is attached to the crane hoist block and wrapped around the drum. As the hoist block is raised or lowered, the drum rotates causing the pulse generator to send pulses to an add-subtract receiver which may be used to display block height to the crane operator or to control the crane hoist block movement.
