Abstract:
A sheet material conveying device unwinds from a roll body a sheet-shaped member constituting a membrane electrode assembly and conveys the sheet-shaped member. The sheet material conveying device is equipped with a suction member that moves the sheet-shaped member, and a negative pressure supply unit that supplies a negative pressure to the suction member. The suction member is constituted by a porous body capable of sucking under the negative pressure one surface of the sheet material having been unwound from the roll body and is movable in a conveying direction.
Abstract:
A method of continuous processing of flexible glass ribbon having a thickness of no more than 0.35 mm using a glass processing apparatus is provided. The method includes providing the glass processing apparatus having at least three processing zones including a first processing zone, a second processing zone and a third processing zone. The flexible glass ribbon is continuously fed from the first processing zone, through the second processing zone to the third processing zone. Rate of the flexible glass ribbon is controlled through each of the first processing zone, second processing zone and third processing zone using a global control device. The second processing zone has a conveyance path for the flexible glass ribbon through a cutting zone having a radius of curvature of from about 100 inches to about 400 inches.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a Suction nozzle (110) for a suction device (100) for conveyance of cut waste strips (210) of a film web (200) comprising a nozzle duct (10) with a nozzle inlet (12) for suctioning the waste strips (210) and with a nozzle outlet (14) for introducing the waste strips (210) into the suction duct (130), wherein the nozzle duct (10) comprises an inlet portion (12a) adjacent to the nozzle inlet (12) and an outlet portion (14a) adjacent to the nozzle outlet (14) and between the outlet portion (14a) and the inlet portion (12a) an at least one rotation portion (16a) is assembled, whose flow cross section (20) is at least partially twisted over the run of the rotation portion (16a).
Abstract:
A calibration procedure is carried out for determining the displacement distance from a reference point to the center of the blade in a web cutter in a mail inserter. A photosensor is placed near the paper plane of the web cutter to sense a web edge at the reference point downstream or upstream from the blade. At the start of the calibration procedure, the blade is caused to cut the web for providing a web edge. The web edge is moved in a backward and forward motion over the photosensor a few times for determining the theoretical center position of the photosensor relative to the position where the web is cut by the blade. By taking into account the chip-out width, the displacement distance from the center of the photosensor to the center of the chip out blade can be determined.
Abstract:
Rolls of pre-stretched cling film are used to manually wrap and unitize bulky loads such as boxes on a pallet. Using film that has previously been plastically stretched simplifies the wrapping operation. Unfortunately, however, the pre-stretched rolls of film have edges which are prone to fail during use. The disclosed invention concerns rolls of pre-stretched cling wrap having improved edges that are less prone to fail, and the method and apparatus for producing such rolls.
Abstract:
Process and apparatus for producing paper reels from a paper web. The process includes calendering the paper web, longitudinally cutting the paper web into partial webs, and winding the partial webs into paper reels. The calendering, longitudinal cutting, and winding occur on-line and without intermediate winding. The apparatus includes a paper machine, a calender, a longitudinal cutting device, and a reel winding device. The paper machine, the calender, the longitudinal cutting device, and the reel winding device are successively arranged in a web run direction.
Abstract:
A print media handling system for feeding print media into a media inlet of a printer is disclosed. The print media handling system includes a media feeder for feeding print media along a media path towards the media inlet. At least one trimming element is disposed along the media path for trimming fed print media to a predetermined width prior to the print media entering the media inlet. A printer that includes a print media handling system described above is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A trimming processing device automatically processes trimmings generated when a running wide web is slit in the running direction of the web into a plurality of strips having desired widths. A trimming cutting unit movable in the transverse direction of the web cuts the trimmings in the transverse direction of the trimmings, and a trimming conveyor unit movable in the transverse direction of the web conveys the trimmings away from the web. The positions of the trimming cutting unit and the trimming conveyor unit are controlled according to the position of the trimmings which varies according to the width of the web and the width and the number of the strips to be slit from the web.
Abstract:
Apparatus for dividing a continuous web having perforated, marginal strips on its sides into discrete sheets and removing the marginal strips. The apparatus includes: a device for engaging and moving the perforated, marginal strips of the continuous web along a feed path; a slitting device located downstream of the engaging and moving device for separating the marginal strips from the remaining, central portion of the web; a cutting device for dividing the remaining, central portion of the web into discrete sheets; a pair of deflectors located downstream of the cutting device for advancing the remaining, central portion of the web and for guiding the severed, marginal portions below the feed path.
Abstract:
A strip-like sheet is slit into a plurality of slit sheets by means of cutters. The slit sheets are distributed to a plurality of winding positions and wound on a winding axle to form a sheet roll thereof on the winding axle. A touch roller provided with a driving mechanism is provided in each of the sheet rolls to make it possible for the slit sheet to be wound while the supply tension thereof is adjusted immediately before the winding.
