摘要: A method for rewinding a web material is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of: a) providing a conveyor belt having opposed first and second surfaces; b) providing a pressure assist device proximate to the second surface of the conveyor belt; c) disposing the web material on the first surface of the conveyor belt; d) providing at least one winding spindle having a speed profile proximate to the web material disposed upon the first surface of the conveyor belt; e) adjusting a position of at least one of the conveyor belt and the pressure assist device relative to the winding spindle to provide a compressive force to the surface of the winding spindle by the conveyor belt; f) adjusting a speed of the at least one winding spindle according to the speed profile; and, g) transferring the web material to the at least one winding spindle from the conveyor belt.

摘要: A winder for winding continuous webs or interleaved web segments having a machine direction and a cross-machine direction coplanar and orthogonal thereto into rolls is disclosed. The winder comprises a first surface contact roll having a longitudinal axis parallel to the cross-machine direction associated thereto. The web material contacts at least a portion of the first surface contact roll. The winder also has a winding spindle arranged to be rotatably driven about an axis generally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the first surface contact roll. The winding spindle is capable of receiving the web material when the winding spindle is proximate the web material contacting the first surface contact roll. Each of the winding spindle and first surface contact roll is capable of cooperative engagement when the web material is disposed therebetween. Further, the longitudinal axis of the first surface contact roll is adjustable relative to the winding axis of the winding spindle when the web material is received by the winding spindle.

摘要: A web winding apparatus and a method of operating the apparatus include a turret assembly, a core loading apparatus, and a core stripping apparatus. The turret assembly supports rotatably driven mandrels for engaging hollow cores upon which a paper web is wound. Each mandrel is driven in a closed mandrel path, which can be non-circular. The core loading apparatus conveys cores onto the mandrels during movement of the mandrels along the core loading segment of the closed mandrel path, and the core stripping apparatus removes each web wound core from its respective mandrel during movement of the mandrel along the core stripping segment of the closed mandrel path. The turret assembly can be rotated continuously, and the sheet count per wound log can be changed as the turret assembly is rotating. The apparatus can also include a mandrel having a deformable core engaging member.

摘要: A winder for winding continuous webs or interleaved web segments into rolls is disclosed. The winder has first and second rollers, a pressure assist device, a winding spindle, and a continuous belt having first and second surfaces. The belt is disposed about the first and second rollers. The web material is disposed upon at least a portion of the first surface of the belt. The winding spindle receives the web material when the spindle is proximate to the web material disposed upon the first surface of the belt. At least one of the longitudinal axis of the first roller and the longitudinal axis of the second roller is adjustable relative to the winding spindle. The pressure assist device is disposed proximate to the second surface of the belt and is adjustable relative to at least one of the second surface of the belt and the winding spindle.

摘要: A system for producing coreless fabric rolls includes a feed station (12) operable to supply a leading edge of a fabric web (24) from a parent roll (18). The system includes a first tucking station (132) operable to position the leading edge of the fabric web (24) adjacent one of a plurality of spindles (48, 50, 52) coupled to a turret (46). The system also includes a winding station (38) comprising a winding roller (36). The winding station (38) is operable to receive the leading edge in a nip defined by the spindle (48, 50, 52) and the winding roller (36) and wind the fabric web (24) into a fabric roll about the spindle (48, 50, 52). The system also includes a cutting station (40) operable to separate the fabric roll from a remaining portion of the fabric web (24). The system also includes a second tucking station (42) operable to receive the spindle (48, 50, 52) from the winding station (36) and wind a trailing edge of the fabric roll about the fabric roll.

摘要: A web winding apparatus and a method of operating the apparatus include a turret assembly, a core loading apparatus, and a core stripping apparatus. 摘要: Material, such as fabric, is unwound from a bolt (7) in a magazine (6) and deposited on a table (1). The magazine (6) comprises a chain (8) having suspension elements (11, FIG. 2) for receiving spindles (10) of the bolts (7). The required bolt (7) is locked in an unwinding position and held firmly, but rotatably, by supporting means (14) and retaining means (18), all in the form of ball bearings. The bolt (7) is rotated by a drive element in the form of a friction wheel or a conveyor belt which drivingly engages either the periphery of the bolt (7) or the spindle (10). In FIG. 2, the drive element comprises a friction wheel (24) which is biased by a spring (25) into driving engagement with a further friction wheel (19) mounted on the spindle (10).The apparatus enables the web to be deposited on the table free of tension.
