Abstract:
An apparatus for forming a bundle (11) of rolled bars, comprising bar conveying means (4), an inclined plane device (1) for forming a layer of bars and bar accumulation means (5), wherein the inclined plane device (1) comprises a plurality of support elements (2), arranged parallel to each another and defining a first plane inclined by an angle (a) with respect to a horizontal direction, and adapted to receive a predetermined number of bars defining the layer of bars on said first plane from said bar conveying means (4), handling means (60) for translating the inclined plane device (1) from a first maximum advancement position distal from the conveyor means (4) to a second maximum retraction position proximal to the conveyor means (4) to unload the layer of bars onto the accumulation means (5), at a speed such to prevent the bars resting on said supporting elements from being dragged.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an interlacing device which can be used automatically to interlace long products on a transport pallet in an economical and optimum manner, which can be adapted to tubes of any length and which operates concurrently with the palletizing machine. The inventive interlacing device (10) is characterized in that it comprises at least one interlacing gantry (11) which extends parallel to the palletized products along at least part of the length thereof and which comprises at least one wire guide (20), the wire guide being fed by at least one interlacing (12′) link reel (12). The aforementioned interlacing device (10) also comprises drive means (14) which are connected to the interlacing gantry (11) in order to move same alternatively between at least two end positions such as to move the guide wire (20) alternatively from one side of the transport pallet (7) to the other in at least one interlacing plane (P) which is essentially perpendicular to the palletized products (2). The invention is suitable for palletizing any long product, e.g. cylindrical tubes.
Abstract:
An apparatus for picking lumber pieces from the ground for example for removing support lumber used during laying of a pipe line comprises a tracked vehicle to which is attached a frame carrying a transport conveyer along the side of the vehicle inclined forwardly and downwardly toward the ground. A picking assembly is provided at the front of the conveyor and alongside the vehicle for lifting the pieces. This includes a front picking roller and a movable outer side blade which is inclined outwardly to the outer side of the picking roller and can be pivoted inwardly to close around the front of the picking roller to squeeze the lumber pieces to force them onto the conveyor.
Abstract:
An apparatus for picking, conveying, stacking and bundling lumber pieces from the ground for example for removing stacked support lumber during laying of a pipe line comprises a tracked vehicle to which is attached a frame carrying a transport conveyer along the side of the vehicle forwardly and downwardly toward the ground. At the forward picking end is provided a picker roller for lifting the lumber pieces from the ground. On one side of the picker roller is provided a drive conveyer which is generally vertical and operable in forward and reverse direction to orient the pieces. On the side opposite to the drive conveyers provided a vertical blade with a rearwardly inclined inner portion which blade can pivot inwardly to push the lumber pieces toward the drive conveyer and to enclose and squeeze the pieces to a position inward of the side of the conveyer. Behind the vehicle is mounted a stacking section which arranges the pieces in a row and then stacks part of the row on top of another part to form the stack. The stack passes through a frame which clamps the pieces together to squeeze the stack and also to wrap the stack with a strapping carried into place by a chain.
Abstract:
A palletizing mechanism (PP, WB, HB1-1, HB-2) supplies a pallet and a length of wrapping paper for receiving successive rows of bags until a full pallet load is prepared. The palletizing apparatus can be mated to the bagger apparatus, and operated synchronously therewith under the management of a common programmable controller. The palletizer apparatus receives each stick of can ends in a predetermined orientation, and maintains the orientation vis-a-vis all sticks in a pallet load. The sticks are placed sequentially into a row of predetermined number of sticks, then that row is loaded onto the top of a layer of wrapping, the first row being supported on a suitable empty pallet, then the wrap is passed over the last placed row. This operation proceeds with the wrap supply following a to-and-fromotion until the desired number of rows is automatically built up on a pallet.
Abstract:
A device for orienting and achieving the optimal density of a quantity of elongated objects having a cleated conveyor belt with a substantially horizontal first portion upon which a pre-weighed product is deposited, an inclined middle portion, and a substantially horizontal end portion. The inclined conveyor belt establishes an even rate of discharge for the elongated objects so that such elongated objects tend to be oriented in a horizontal plane after they have fallen into a product orientation hopper. By having the width of the product-orientation hopper narrower than the length of most of the elongated objects, the longitudinal axis of the elongated objects will tend to be parallel to the sides of the product-orientation hopper. The product-orientation hopper is, also, vibrated to increase the density of the elongated objects. To fill voids which exist between the elongated objects in the product-orientation hopper, a horizontal squeezer pushes such elongated objects from their ends by forcing the ends of the product-orientation hopper toward one another.
Abstract:
An apparatus that forms bundles of glass articles includes a glass article infeed station including an infeed conveyor that continuously transports individual glass articles to a layer separating conveyor. The layer separating conveyor includes a conveyor belt that forms a layer of side-by-side glass articles. A robotic lift assembly is configured to place the layer of side-by-side glass articles together on a layer separation insert. The layer separation insert has side-by-side slots that each receive a single glass article of the layer of side-by-side glass articles.
Abstract:
A method of forming bundles of glass articles is provided. The method includes transporting individual glass articles to an insert building station using a conveying system. The glass articles are individually located within article receiving slots of a layer separation insert using the conveying system. Each slot of the layer separation insert receives a single glass article forming a glass article layer of side-by-side glass articles. Multiple glass article layers including layer separation inserts are stacked using the conveying system forming a bundle. The layer separation inserts provide a barrier between adjacent glass articles of each of the glass article layers to inhibit glass-to-glass contact.
