Abstract:
A board turner assembly may include an endless chain, first and second groups of turning arms pivotably coupled with the endless chain and disposed along opposite sides thereof, an upper guide with an inclined surface, an actuator selectively operable to move the upper guide between a resting position and an extended position, and one or more endless belts. The turning arms may be spaced apart at regular intervals that are offset on one side of the chain relative to the other. The groups of turning arms may be operated in an alternating fashion to turn selected boards to a desired orientation (e.g., wane side up). Corresponding methods and systems are also described.
Abstract:
There is described a feeding unit for feeding at least one sealed pack of pourable food products to a folding unit configured to form folded packages from relative pack; feeding unit comprising: a feeding conveyor; at least one push member movable cyclically along path and comprising, in turn, a wall adapted to contact pack; and a support for supporting push member on feeding conveyor; path comprising an inlet station at which push member receives, in use, pack, and an outlet station, at which push member discharges, in use, pack; path comprises a first curved stretch which defines outlet station; push member is connected to support in such a way that the movement of support along first portion causes the movement of wall towards feeding conveyor.
Abstract:
A folding device for folding over a section or a flap of an outer packaging for articles includes at least one conveyor chain, push chain, and/or sealing chain, which chain in turn includes several pushing or folding elements spaced apart from each other and fastened to the chain at defined distances from each other. Each include a pushing or folding section protruding beyond the conveying plane. A coupling apparatus pivots the pushing or folding section of the respective pushing or folding elements in connection with a direction change and/or deflection of the conveyor, push, and/or sealing chain. Each pushing or folding element includes a carrier section connected to the chain and pivotable relative to the direction of chain movement via the coupling element and, fastened to this carrier section, each pushing or folding element further includes a pushing or folding section toollessly removable from the carrier section.
Abstract:
The invention presented comprises an operation system in which items to be processed by an operator, such as a washer/dryer, bulk sterilizer, or kiln, are fed into and removed from the operator by a continuous conveyor. A microcontroller controls actuators in loading zones distributed along the conveyor that switch the individual loading zones from bypass to push mode to alternately allow the items to remain stationary on the moving conveyor or be moved to a downstream loading zone when in the push mode. In a preferred embodiment, at least one loading zone is located at least partly within the operator.
Abstract:
A drag catch conveyor including an endless, driven pulling chain which can be moved along a specified path, supporting blocks mounted to the pulling chain, a number of drag catches mounted to the pulling chain in mutually overlapping relation so as to be alternatively offset in a left direction and a right direction, and a rail system disposed below the path.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a conveying system comprising a drive chain and at least one conveying carrier. Such a conveying system is to be made more flexible for the most different goods to be conveyed. To this end the conveying carrier can be brought into detachable engagement with the drive chain, the drive chain comprising chain links arranged in a row and interconnected via a chain joint, a chain joint being formed by a sleeve pertaining to a first chain link and by a bolt passed through the sleeve and pertaining to a second chain link, at least part of the bolts projecting laterally at both sides and a transporting sleeve being arranged on each of the projecting end portions and the conveying carrier comprising an engaging means which can be brought into detachable engagement at least with both transporting sleeves of a bolt. The invention further relates to a drive chain for such a conveying system.
Abstract:
A swinging hook apparatus, rotatably mounted on a pivotal shaft on a conveyor chain, comprising a swinging hook having an abutting surface for detachably engaging with conveyor goods and formed above the pivotal shaft of the swinging hook and having an external force action surface formed below the pivotal shaft with a bearing of the pivotal shaft mounted, through a shock absorber, on the swinging hook support in a longitudinal direction of the conveyor chain.
Abstract:
Rows of bottles are conveyed on parallel running belts. Closed loop flexible members such as roller chains, run in vertical planes along the longitudinal edges of the belts in the same direction as the belts. The closed loop chains have stabilizing devices mounted to them for stabilizing the bottles in each row as they move along on the belts beyond a bottle infeed region. The stabilizing devices each constitute a pair of fingers that are pivotally mounted to pins that stand up from the closed loop chains and are spring biased so that they diverge at a predetermined angle from each other when they are not restrained from doing so. As the sets of fingers are carried around on the chain, they reach a region where the bottles are deposited on the belts. At least in this region, the fingers of the stabilizing devices arrive between parallel plates which cause the fingers to pivot towards each other in an overlapping relationship so that they are clear from the pathway defined by the belts. After the bottles advance in a row, a small distance from where the fingers are restrained, the fingers emerge from between the plates and the springs cause the fingers to diverge at an angle from each other and establish contact with bottles on the belt to stabilize them. The fingers swing in a horizontal plane so they use none of the head room above the bottles, thereby allowing for a more compact conveyor system.
Abstract:
A conveyor includes two spaced guide rails over an upwardly facing support surface which can slidably support an article to be conveyed, the support surface having a plurality of parallel slots. Two movably-supported chains below the support surface support a plurality of pushing assemblies each having several central fingers which can project upwardly above the support surface through respective slots and having two outermost fingers which can move between positions projecting above the support surface through respective slots and disposed below the support surface. An arrangement responsive to the positions of the guide rails automatically positions the outer pushing fingers in one of the two positions thereof.
Abstract:
A product feed device includes multiple drivers mounted pivotally between a pair of parallel and opposed endless chains. When pivoted to an active position, each driver engages a product and pushes the product along a path. A set of cams is disposed upstream of the path. Each of the cams is alternatively positionable in alignment between the chains, to engage successive drivers to either set or reset the drivers as they encounter the cam. The cams set and reset successive drivers in different repeating sequences, thus to enable switching from one selected spacing between actuated cams to another, depending on which cam is in the operating position. A pair of opposed guide members extend longitudinally along the path to confine the chains against transverse movement, and maintain each of the drivers in its selected orientation, whether set to active or reset to a bypass position.
