摘要： An instrument panel for a motor vehicle includes: a display area including a first portion, a second portion, and a third portion. The first portion is located in a first main plane of extension. The second portion is located in a second main plane of extension. The second main plane of extension is positioned relative to the first main plane of extension with respect to a user of the instrument panel such that the second portion of the display area is positioned further from a normal position of the eyes of the user relative to the first portion of the display area. The instrument panel further includes an optical conductor, the optical conductor including a first part and a second part. At least part of the second portion and/or at least part of the third portion of the display area is illuminated by the second part of the optical conductor.

摘要： A vehicle instrument panel assembly includes a light source, a pointer, and a sensor. The light source is configured to emit light from a display surface of the assembly. The pointer overlies the display surface and is movable about an axis to an angle to point to indicia on the display surface. The pointer defines a hub portion and a needle portion that extends from the hub portion. The hub portion overlies the light source and includes a light-guide that guides light from the light source into the needle portion whereby the needle portion is illuminated. The sensor is located proximate to the hub portion. The sensor is configured to detect that the pointer is present regardless of the angle of the pointer.

摘要： A gauge which uses a prism or other type of reflector to illuminate a single graphic or icon on a dial such that only one graphic on the dial is shown during the operation of the gauge. All of the remaining graphics have a dead front appearance, and cannot be viewed, such that the gauge presents only one discrete value at a time. The dial is beneath a lens, and the prism is beneath the dial. An actuator is mounted to a PCB, and an LED is also mounted to the PCB to allow the prism to transmit light to the desired area of the dial. The dial also includes a central graphic, or icon, and the gauge is able to display different values, while the central graphic remains constantly illuminated in the center of the gauge.

A display device (100) comprises: a display unit (10) which displays a display image including a notification image for notifying of a vehicle state in a display region; a framing unit (30) which is located upon the display region of the display unit (10) and is configured from a plurality of components (first component (31), second component (32)); and a moving device (40) which moves at least one of the plurality of components. The framing unit (30) is segmented by moving at least one of the components by the moving mechanism (40). Prior to segmenting, the framing unit (30) surrounds a partial region of the display region of the display unit (10). The display unit (10) displays a different display image before and after the segmenting of the framing unit (30), and displays a notification image which fits the shape of the framing unit (30) at least either before or after the segmentation of the framing unit (30).

摘要： An instrument cluster assembly is disclosed and includes at least one gauge. The gauge includes a dial surface having a primary scale and a secondary scale. A needle indicator assembly comprising a primary needle and a secondary needle is rotatable about an axis and spaced from the dial surface. The tip of the primary needle is positioned to indicate on the primary scale, and the tip of the secondary needle is positioned to indicate on the secondary scale. The gauge further includes a primary light source for illuminating the primary needle and a secondary light source for illuminating the secondary needle. The primary light source and the secondary light source are independently illuminable.
