Abstract: A binder arrangement that has a plurality of covers hingably connected to a spine that spaces apart each cover such that each cover can carry a binder and be closed one on top of the other without either binder interfering with each other or case closure. Each binder includes a hold down page that is releasably attached by a hold down page latch that accommodates the binder holding contents having different thicknesses. In a preferred embodiment, the hold down page latch comprises a hook and loop fastener that has a loop strip fixed to a latch strap and a hook strip that is fixed to the hold down page. To increase the number of opening and closing cycles the binder arrangement can endure, the binder arrangement has sidewalls joined by a fastening arrangement that is resiliently anchored at one end to the spine, preferably by an elastomeric connector. In one preferred embodiment, the fastening arrangement is a zipper that is resiliently anchored at its zipper bottom stop by a piece of elastic fabric.

Abstract: A foldable device for carrying and displaying at least one flat article is disclosed, including a foldable unitary member adapted for movement between an open and a closed position. The apparatus is typically a binder for paper and the like that has a first cover and a second cover. The covers are hingedly connected at one of their ends. Extending from the score lines on each cover is an end portion that may be used to secure the covers together. Abstract: The rings of a loose leaf ring binder are selectively locked and unlocked by a locking member which travels within a slot on the spine of the ring binder. The leaf springs of the loose leaf ring binder have notches formed below a portion of the slot. Therefore, when a W-shaped locking prong of the locking member is aligned with the notches, the leaf springs can freely flex upwardly and downwardly allowing the rings of the loose leaf ring binder to open and close. However, when the W-shaped locking prong is not aligned with the notches, the W-shaped locking prong is urged against the leaf springs thereby maintaining the leaf springs in a downward position thereby locking the rings of the loose leaf ring binder in a closed position.
