The laser printhead assembly may include a laser containment door; and a laser containment housing that is configured to form a sealed enclosure with a label support of a label. The sealed enclosure may be configured to include the label and the laser printhead. The laser containment door, in a laser-enabled position, may be configured to permit the laser printhead, via a light beam, to modify the label and the laser containment door, in a laserdisabled position, may be configured to prevent a light beam from escaping the laser containment housing.

摘要: Embodiments of the present invention provide improvements to printers including the use of engineered structures to limit bending, flexing, and/or twisting during impacts and the use of impact absorbing materials to prevent cracks and breaks. Design features and materials add to the rigidity of the printer design to prevent twisting and flexing during impacts and add to the strength of the printer design in typical breakage areas. For example, embodiments provide improvements that strengthen traditional break areas by the use of improved materials and design optimization to distribute impact forces. Embodiments allow the printer to maintain an operational status following a drop test and/or a tumble test.

摘要: A method of opening a security housing that requires authorization and unlocking moves the printing module transversely by a transverse mover into an additional unlocked position, as a result of which, the security housing or an access thereto is unlocked. The configuration has a mechanical locking or element and a printing module. The printing module is mounted such that it can be moved transversely to the transporting direction, for mechanically releasing the lock of a security-housing part directly or indirectly, by the security-housing part only being released once an additional security-housing part has been unlocked. The latter has a locking element that is disposed in the interior of the security housing and can be actuated by the printing module.

摘要: An imaging device access control for restricting access to internally located parts of the imaging device. In one embodiment of the invention, an imaging device includes an access panel hingedly attached to an imaging housing. Access to an interior of the imaging device through an access panel is controlled by an access panel operation restrictor assembly. The access panel operation restrictor assembly includes an access panel operation restrictor and an access panel restrictor release. The panel operation restrictor may include a locking mechanism having a bolt which is selectively engageable with the access panel by operation of a solenoid. In one preferred embodiment of the invention, the access panel operation restrictor assembly is operable from an image forming device control panel. An individual must enter an authorization code or password at the control panel as a precondition to operation of the access panel operation restrictor assembly.

摘要: The invention features a method and apparatus for an ink jet recording apparatus in which a carriage lock is provided. When a return of the carriage to the home position HP is detected, the waiting time at the home position HP is counted. When this waiting time has reached a predetermined time, a carriage lock is engaged. When the carriage lock is engaged immediately after the carriage returns to the home position HP, the frequency of the carriage lock is reduced, thus enhancing its durability. Further, there is no need of disengaging the carriage lock at a restart of the printing, thus improving responsiveness at the restart of the printing.
