    摘要: A method for the production of highly-active rubber powder from old tires and scrap vulcanised rubber articles based on various rubbers by 2-stage thermo-mechanical treatment in an extruder. This involves (a) fine pulverisation and (b) sharp reduction of the volume stress. An apparatus for the production of highly-active rubber powder includes a cylindrical housing with feed and discharge connections, a compression zone and pulverisation zone(s), each with a compression screw with grooves decreasing in depth in the machine direction and a rotating coaxial activator with grooves on its outer working surface, the housing, screw and activator being provided with cooling elements.

    摘要: High-capacity extrusion die assemblies (20, 90, 130, 140, 180, 252) each having a tubular sections (44, 146, 162, 268) and an elongated, axially rotatable, helically flighted screw section (56, 56a, 152, 168, 276, 278) which cooperatively define frustoconical, outwardly diverging material flow paths (75, 160, 291) at constant or differing divergence angles of from about 1-11°. The use of diverging tubular sections (44, 146, 162, 268) and screw sections (56, 56a, 152, 168, 276, 278) permits the use of larger die plates (76, 118, 292) with an increased number of die openings (80, 124, 296). This allows significant increases in extrusion production rates. The die assemblies (20, 90, 130, 140, 180, 252) can be used in the production of a wide number of human foods or animal feeds, and particularly aquatic feeds of the floating or sinking variety. In another aspect of the invention, an extruder (210) is provided having diverging and converging sections (212, 214) along the length thereof and defining corresponding flow paths (230, 246).

    摘要: A screw extruder (10), including a barrel assembly (12) having a central bore (36) which defines an inner surface (37). An extruder screw (38) is positioned within the barrel assembly's (12) central bore (36). The barrel assembly (12) has an input end (20) which includes a feed housing portion (25), the feed housing portion (25) having an opening for introduction of material into the central bore (36). There is a shaping die (18) situated at the output end (16) of the barrel assembly (12) to shape the extruded material. The feed housing portion (25) also has one or more groove channels (44) opening into the inner surface (37) of the feed housing portion (25) with a key (48) disposed in each of these groove channels (44). Contacting each key (48) are one or more independently activated actuators (28) which can be used to adjust the radial depths of the keys (48) in the groove channels (44) thus controlling the depth of grooves (46) formed between the keys (48) and the central bore (36) of the barrel (12). A control loop may be established by monitoring a process parameter such as barrel assembly pressure by a sensor (32). This data is fed to a process controller (34), which then adjusts the actuators (28) independently to control the groove (46) depths and thus control the process parameter. Also disclosed is a method for controlling extrusion from a screw extruder (10).

    摘要: Apparatus for plasticizing continuously resin material or wastes of used synthetic resin formed articles as much as possible. The apparatus does not consume so large energy for its extremely large plasticizing capacity, and moreover, it will not cause a cutting of resin molecules nor deterioration of the resin during the plasticizing operation contrary to the case as in the conventional screw extruder. The apparatus comprises a rotating member having a frustoconical inner peripheral wall along which the resin material is propelled longitudinally by centrifugal force from a small diameter to a large diameter portion during the plasticizing process. A cone shaped inner member mounted to rotate with said rotating member may be provided to form a flow passage between said inner peripheral wall and the outer surface of said cone member.
