    摘要: A method for producing a blow molded plastic bottle starting from a preform comprises providing a preform with a specific wall thickness distribution and a blow mold are provided, the cavity of the mold having at least one channel at the locations of the plastic bottle that are to be strengthened. Subsequently, the preform is heated in such a way that the portion of the preform that correlates with the channel of the cavity is thinned to a lesser extent during the stretching and/or blow, and an accumulation of plastics material is brought about in the channel during the main blow molding operation. A plastic container produced by this process has strengthening elements formed as at least one outwardly protruding bead of material and have a wall thickness that is at least 30%, greater than the wall thickness of a portion of the wall adjacent to the bead of material.

    摘要: A preform for manufacturing plastics material bottles or wide-necked vessels is described, having a rigid, substantially elongate, frustoconical body portion that is closed at one of its longitudinal ends by a dome-shaped end portion and at its opposite longitudinal end adjoins via a preform collar a neck portion provided with a pouring opening. The preform possesses in the body portion an external diameter that is reduced from the preform collar to the end portion. The body portion has a wall thickness which changes over its longitudinal extension substantially constantly by up to +2 mm. For this purpose, it possesses an internal diameter which decreases substantially constantly from a transition to the preform collar up to a transition to the dome-shaped end portion.

    摘要: A process and multistation apparatus for injection blow molding a thermoplastic material to form a blow molded container having an integral injection molded handle is disclosed. The process and apparatus feature an injection mold which is closed to form an injection mold cavity with a contiguous injection mold handle cavity. A preform pin is inserted into the injection mold cavity through a preform carrier to form a preform recess into which hot thermoplastic is injected to form a hollow preform having a solid injection molded handle. After cooling the thermoplastic preform the preform pin is withdrawn and the molds are opened. The injection formed preform may be optionally heat treated prior to the preform being enclosed within a blow mold. The blow mold forms a cavity having the final desired container shape and a cavity into which the handle is enclosed. Blow air is introduced into the preform to inflate it to the shape of the blow mold cavity thereby forming a blow molded container having an injection molded handle attached thereto. A preform carrier may be used to carry the injection molded preform from the injection mold station to the blow mold station. The carrier attains attachment to the preform as the preform is formed in the injection mold.

    摘要: Plastic containers having internal reinforcing ribs are formed by a molding operation including pre-blow and final-blow steps. The pre-blow step includes inflating a blowable plastic parison into contact with the cavity walls of a first blow mold to form a blown pre-form, the cavity walls of the first blow mold including a plurality of concave grooves to form a pattern of convex or protuberant ribs on the outer-periphery of the pre-form. The final-blow step includes positioning the blown, ribbed pre-form within a second or final blow mold having a cavity defined by substantially smooth wall surfaces conforming to the exterior configuration of the desired container. Next, the pre-form is blown to stretch and expand against the cavity walls of the second mold, during which step the convex ribs on the exterior of the pre-form are flattened, forming concave portions intermediate convex reinforcing ribs on the internal wall surface of the container.

METHOD IS UTILIZED SO THAT THE NESTABLE PREFORM CAN BE SUPPLIED TO THE END USER, NAMELY, THE PACKER, FROM THE MANUFACTURER IN A PACKAGE CONTAINING SEVERAL HUNDRED PREFORMS IN STACKED, NESTED RELATIONSHIP. SUCH PREFORMS ARE DENESTED AND PLACED INDIVIDUALLY IN A MOLD HAVING A CAVITY CONTOURED TO THE DESIRED CONFIGURATION OF THE FINISHED ARTICLE. UPON HEATING TO THE DESIRED TEMPERATURE. THE PREFORM IS EXPANDED WITHIN THE MOLD INTO CONFORMITY WITH THE MOLDING CAVITY. IN A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT. THE PREFORM IS HEATED WHILE IT IS RETAINED ON A MANDREL BY VACUM APAPPLIED TO THE MANDREL.
