摘要: A welding or cutting device includes an internal combustion engine coupled to a generator for generating electrical power. A welding or cutting power supply is powered by the generator. The welding or cutting power supply supplies a welding or cutting output signal. An auxiliary outlet circuit is configured to receive power from the generator. The auxiliary outlet circuit includes at least one auxiliary load outlet. A controller controls an engine speed of the internal combustion engine. The controller is configured to determine an anticipated load on the generator to be supplied through the auxiliary load outlet, based on a no load condition of the auxiliary load outlet, and adjust an idle speed of the engine based on the anticipated load. The controller is further configured to subsequently increase the engine speed, from the idle speed to an auxiliary load speed, when the generator supplies power through the auxiliary load outlet.

摘要: A method of operating a welding wire feeder includes receiving an input power signal from a power source and converting the input power signal to a bus power signal on an internal bus at a first time with a boost converter. The method also includes detecting bus voltage and bus current of the bus power signal on the internal bus and converting the bus power signal to a welding output signal at a second time with a buck converter. The welding output signal is suitable for a controlled waveform welding process. The method also includes detecting output voltage and output current of the weld output, and reducing a voltage ripple on the internal bus based at least in part on the detected bus and output current and/or voltages.

摘要: Process and apparatus for welding workpiece have heat sensitive material are proposed. The heat sensitive material includes austenitic manganese steel, also referred to as Hadfield manganese steel. The process reciprocates filler metal in and out of weld pool. The motion of the filler metal may be synchronized with waveform of power source. Welding parameters are adjusted such that weld may be performed on the workpiece without cracking the heat sensitive material. The process allows Hadfield manganese steel to be welded to generator components in power generation applications. The process provides reliable and repeatable welding quality.

摘要: The present disclosure provides a welding system having a welder, a welding gun, and a welding gun adapter, the welding gun being a spool gun with an attached motor. The welding gun adapter receives welding power from the welder, and converts it to output power suitable for driving the motor of the welding gun. The welding gun adapter also uses received welding power from the welder for control power. The present techniques allow for the use of welding guns requiring motor power to be used with any ordinary welder.
