    摘要: An internal broach for internally broaching profiles, defined by a bottom and flanks, of female serrations of a work piece, comprises a toothed portion with several rows of broach cutting teeth disposed successively counter to a direction of broaching, successive broach cutting teeth being allocated to each other for broaching a profile. The broach cutting teeth have bottom cutting blades and first and second sides. The first sides are guide flanks, the edges of which are guide edges without cutting ability. The second sides are flank-cutting-blade relief surfaces, the edges of which are designed as flank blades with cutting ability.

The calibrating broaching teeth in adjacent rows on the calibration part have a guiding flank (without a clearance angle or with a maximum negative clearance angle of 0.1°) and a cutting flank (with a positive clearance angle). The guiding flanks and the cutting flanks on the calibrating broaching teeth located behind each other in the direction opposite the broaching direction are alternately offset relative to each other in adjacent rows. The position, shape, and size of each guiding flank located downstream in relation to the direction opposite the broaching direction are associated with the position, shape, and size of the associated cutting flank (or the flank of the broaching tooth) in the preceding row.

A gear tooth broach is provided having an elongate body having a series of axially aligned and spaced teeth disposed thereon. The direction of tooth spaces or traces of the teeth in a longitudinally extending helical alignment and the direction of the gullets of the teeth in a general side by side circumferentially extending helical arrangement are both oriented to the same hand of helix angle.

    摘要: A finishing broach for a work piece having helical teeth in which an elongated broach body has a multiplicity of series of helically aligned teeth and in which each tooth has sides conforming to the profile shape of the tooth spaces between adjacent teeth on the work piece, and in which the sides of each tooth are inclined to define obtuse and acute included angles at the leading corners. Each series of broach teeth has a leading and a following section. In the leading section at the acute side the teeth are all laterally stepped and backed off. At the obtuse side the teeth are neither laterally stepped nor backed off. In the following section at the obtuse side the teeth are all laterally stepped and backed off. In the following section at the acute side the first few teeth are backed off but are not laterally stepped. The following tooth is neither laterally stepped nor backed off but its side surface is chamfered from the front surface of the tooth rearwardly. The remaining teeth in the following section at the acute side are neither stepped nor backed off.
