Abstract:
A hole saw blade comprises a substantially cylindrical body with a pair of sides extending substantially concentric to each other. The sides have an inner surface and an outer surface. A cutting edge extends from an end of the body. A plurality of teeth defines the cutting edge. The teeth are arranged in an alternating pattern in which a first tooth extends inwardly of a cylinder containing the inner surface a first inner distance. A second tooth is adjacent to the first tooth extends outwardly of a cylinder containing the outer surface a second outer distance. A third tooth is located adjacent the second tooth on an opposite side of the first tooth and that extends inwardly of the cylinder containing the inner surface a third inner distance greater than the first inner distance.
Abstract:
A system for setting and sharpening teeth of a saw blade includes a frame, a sharpening assembly and a setting assembly. A block affixed to the frame defines at least in part a blade path. The sharpening assembly is configured to sharpen a first tooth of the saw blade in a first position of the blade path. The setting assembly configured to set the first tooth of the saw blade in a second position of the blade path, wherein the blade path is defined through the sharpening assembly and the setting assembly. An advancement assembly is configured to move the saw blade along the blade path in an advancement direction to advance teeth of the saw blade into and out of the first position, and into and out of the second position.
Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a bandsaw blade provided at the top of the teeth with cutting tips made of a hard material, includes the steps of: offsetting to the left and right saw teeth constituting left and right offset teeth; forming the saw teeth constituting the left and right offset teeth to a smaller tooth height than that of the saw teeth constituting straight teeth; and grinding cutting tips provided to the top of the left and right offset teeth subsequent to the offsetting step, and machining the edge lines at the top of the left and right offset teeth so that the lines are orthogonal to the travel direction of a bandsaw blade and the cutting direction of the bandsaw blade.
Abstract:
An improved method and apparatus for removing a section from a tire is disclosed. The improved method and apparatus are configured so that one side of a saw blade used to cut a section from a tire is treated by dulling. The treatment allows for the removal of a section of a tire so cords embedded in various layers of the tire are protected from damage and the surface texture surrounding the removed section of the tire is adequate for repair.

Abstract:
The teeth of a saw blade and particularly of a band saw blade are transversely set so that, for each such set tooth a portion of the tooth bounded by its leading edge and by an outwardly extending line of set is disposed transversely to the remainder of the tooth. The line of set extends edgewise outwardly from the leading edge of the tooth and preferably intersects the trailing edge of the tooth along a line generally parallel to the leading edge.
