Abstract:
A tool holder positioning device includes: a plurality of protruded portions or a plurality of recessed portions formed to a seating surface of a tool rest; and a plurality of recessed portions or a plurality of protruded portions formed to a coupling surface of a tool holder so as to correspond, respectively, to a plurality of protruded portions or a plurality of recessed portions formed to the seating surface of the tool rest, when the seating surface and the coupling surface are contacted. At least one of the protruded portions and at least one of the recessed portions are disposed on an intersecting axis included in the seating surface, and the recessed portions and the protruded portions to be fitted to the plurality of protruded portions and the plurality of recessed portions are disposed on an intersecting axis included in the coupling surface. A plurality of slots parallel with the seating surface or coupling surface are alternatively formed in a direction of an axis on which the protruded portions are disposed so that the protruded portions are elastically deformable, and tapered surfaces of the recessed portions and the protruded portions are symmetrically formed thereof, respectively.
Abstract:
The present invention comprises a machining apparatus including a work piece holder having an adapter body with an axial bore and a translating portion located within the axial bore of the adapter body. The translating portion has a proximal end for coupling with a retention knob collet of a spindle and a distal end for attaching to a collet. The work piece holder includes a retaining piece coupling the adapter body and the translating portion allowing the translating portion to move axially within the adapter body. The apparatus facilitates a rotating spindle grasping and rotating a work piece to be brought into contact with a processing tool held stationary on a work table. The present invention also includes a fixture block for attaching milling tools and other devices to a work table and a method of operating a milling machine utilizing the fixture block and work piece holder.
Abstract:
A device for positionally-accurate accommodation of at least one secondary member on a carrier, such as a toolholder on a turret disc, comprises of adjustable locating means for positionally-accurate adjustment of the secondary member relative to the carrier. The locating means comprise of a bearing surface (24), which is laterally arranged on the carrier in the vicinity of its seat-engaging surface and which are arranged on a locating member that is adjustable relative to the carrier by means of adjusting means (30). Moreover the secondary member (17) comprises of stopping means, which are similarly allocated to the locating member in the vicinity of its seat-engaging surface (170) and which, when a secondary member is mounted on the seat-engaging surface of the carrier, are held in contact with the stopping face with prestress.

Abstract:
The invention provides a tool support for machine tools comprising a base unit, a holding member arranged on the base unit and two supporting surfaces extending at an acute angle to one another arranged on the holding member for supporting a tool holder in first and second supporting areas. A clamping device acts on a clamping member of the tool holder such that the tool holder acts upon the supporting surfaces with the two supporting areas. The clamping element may be mounted in the holding member for rotation about an axis and bear a wedge surface movable around the axis for acting on the clamping member. The wedge surface of the clamping element may engage over the clamping member proceeding from an insert position during the rotation of the clamping element in a first direction of rotation and displace the clamping member increasingly in the clamping direction.
Abstract:
In order to improve a tool support for machine tools comprising a base unit, a holding member which is arranged on the base unit and on which two supporting surfaces extending at an acute angle to one another are arranged for supporting a tool holder in a first supporting area and a second supporting area, and a clamping device for acting on a clamping member of the tool holder in a clamping direction extending in such a manner that the tool holder acts upon the supporting surfaces with the first and the second supporting areas, in such a manner that clamping of a tool holder is possible in as simple a way as possible it is suggested that the clamping element be mounted in the holding member for rotation about an axis and bear a wedge surface movable on a path around the axis for acting on the clamping member, and that the wedge surface of the clamping element engage over the clamping member proceeding from an insert position during the rotation of the clamping element in a first direction of rotation and act upon this clamping member so as to displace it increasingly in the clamping direction.
