    摘要: A method for silver chain manufacture comprises forming lengths of silver wire into successive chain links whose ends abut using an automatic chain forming machine, and closing the links by brazing or welding abutting ends thereof, by means or a laser. The wire comprises at least 92.5 wt % Ag and about 0.5aboul 3 wt % Gc and speeds of 100-250 links per minute can be achieved. The invention also relates to a silver chain.

Such unique visual property traits for the succession of link elements results in a more attractive, fanciful, more delicate and interesting fashion item. Each of the interconnected link elements along the rope chain may have the same or different visual properties, and may have multiple portions of varying color, texture, shape, or other visual properties. In another aspect of the invention, each link element may have exterior edges, or edge portions, exhibiting a flat, smooth, highly light reflective surface.

    摘要: Several methods of forming links are disclosed, whereby the outer peripheries of such links are contoured prior to assembly into rope chains.     摘要: A jewelry rope chain formed of embossed solid or hollow links. A link wire is passed through dice to create a flattened wire having the large surfaces which are embossed. The wire is wrapped on a mandrel so that the small faces contact the mandril, creating a spiral that cut into individual links. When the links are interassembled, the embossed surfaces are in contact and juxtaposed to one another with only their top portions visible, creating a unique effect and appearance.

    摘要: A method of manufacturing jewelry and a chain article formed therefrom that results in a product substantially lighter than its solid counterpart. A length of wire mesh or woven wire type of nullfabricnull having a hollow seamed wire with a non-precious core of a width and length corresponding generally to the proportions of the jewelry chain to be created is provided. The non-precious core is then removed by one of many methods. Then, a series of hollow link sections are received on the length of wire mesh such that the interior surfaces of the links surround the mesh. The links are arranged in an end-to-end abutting relationship upon the mesh until the length of chain desired is reached. Alternatively, a spiral resembling a spring may be used. Upper and lower die members are brought into contact with the preformed chain and forced there against with a magnitude of pressure and for a duration of time sufficient to deform the links or spiral and bring the inner surfaces thereof into at least partial engagement with the mesh.

    摘要: A chain link of hollow construction and substantially uniform thickness, for intertwining with other chain links to form a jewelry chain, has a non-annular cross-section throughout the link with the cross-section being symmetric along a centerline plane through said cross-section. The cross-sectional shape of the link preferably has on each side of the centerline plane, at least two sides that meet at a point of inflection. On each side of the centerline plane, at least one side preferably converges toward said centerline plane. A reduction in manufacturing costs and precious metal used to form the links and therefore the chain is realized by using a non-annular cross-section having such constructional qualities.
