    摘要: Component gas is separated from a gas mixture. Component gas flow rate, or demand, is determined. One or more gas separator operating parameters is changed based on the component gas flow rate. For example, gas flow rate can be approximated by measuring a rate of pressure decay of a product tank during a time period in which the tank is not being replenished by the separating system. When it is determined that the flow rate is relatively low, operating parameters of the separating system are changed to improve system performance with the lower demand. For example, a target product tank pressure at which sieve beds are switched can be lowered when demand is lower.

    摘要: Process step in a pressure swing adsorption process using multiple parallel adsorbent beds operating in cyclic process steps to recover a less strongly adsorbable component from a feed gas mixture containing at least one less strongly adsorbable component and at least one more strongly adsorbable component, wherein each adsorbent bed has a feed end and a product end, wherein each bed is subjected to at least a feed/product step, one or more depressurization steps, a purge step in which a purge gas enriched in the less strongly adsorbable component is introduced into the product end of the bed and a purge effluent gas is withdrawn from the feed end of the bed, and one or more repressurization steps. The process step comprises introducing at least a portion of the purge effluent gas from a first bed into the feed end of a second adsorbent bed at any time other than during the feed/product step in the second adsorbent bed.

    摘要: A system and method for improving the efficiency of a gas fractionalization system of the type having a compressor having an inlet for receiving air from the ambient environment. The system includes a sensor for sensing a parameter indicative of the flow of concentrated gas delivered from the gas fractionalization system to a patient. A multi-positional valve is disposed in line with the compressor for regulating the flow of air from the ambient environment into the compressor. A valve control manipulates the position of the multi-positional valve depending on the value of the parameter sensed by the sensor for regulating the quantity of air received from the ambient environment into the compressor inlet.
