    Abstract: An adjustable wheel mobility vehicle can have a support structure for supporting a rider, a modular conveying feature with a wheel, and an attachment that physically and tightly secures the modular conveying feature to the support structure in at least two different positions. A tool-free mechanism can allow a user to free the modular conveying feature from the support structure for movement to another position. A system for adjusting a skateboard wheel position can include a wheel support structure having multiple wheel attachment positions, and a wheel assembly comprising a skateboard wheel and a base. The wheel can swivel with respect to the base and the base can join to the wheel support structure. The base and wheel support structure can tightly join to prevent rotation of the base with respect to the wheel support structure and that tightly retain the base in a first attachment position. A release feature can allow a user to easily loosen the base and reposition it in a second attachment position.

    Abstract: A wheel hub configured to be used with an electric vehicle. The wheel hub includes a hollow cylindrical body, a direct drive motor, a hollow axle, a battery, and a tire. The hollow cylindrical body includes a first end surface and a second end surface that is axially opposite and spaced apart from the first end surface. The direct drive motor is disposed within the hollow cylindrical body and is configured to rotate the cylindrical body about a central axis of the motor. The hollow axle has a central axis that is coaxial with the motor central axis and is at least partially disposed within the cylindrical body. The battery is disposed within the hollow cylindrical body and is in electrical communication with the direct drive motor. The tire is fixedly coupled and disposed on an external surface of the hollow cylindrical body.

    Abstract: A skateboard device may include a frame, a set of wheels, and a deck. A user or rider may stand on the deck. The deck may be divided into a front panel and a rear panel, on which the user may rest a front foot and a rear foot, respectively. The rear panel may be fixed relative to the frame. The front panel, in turn, may pivot sideways relative to the frame and, in pivoting sideways, may drive a front wheel fork for rotation in order to steer one or more front wheels of the set of wheels left or right. In some embodiments, the skateboard device may include relatively wide, convex, single front and rear wheels facilitating riding the skateboard device not only on hard, flat surfaces but also on other terrains such as, but not limited to, dirt, gravel, etc.

    Abstract: The present steerable wheel assembly incorporates a lean-to-steer mechanism into an inner race of a roller bearing, while a wheel is mounted to an outer race of the roller bearing. A shaft extending from the mechanism is attached to a body, and the mechanism acts to steer the outer race and the wheel about a vertical steering axis when the shaft is tilted about a horizontal axis. The mechanism can be a pivot joint, providing a linear steering response, or can be a lean-to-steer mechanism that provides a non-linear response where the steering action is not consistently responsive to tilting over the expected range of tilting. The present non-linear lean-to-steer mechanisms can also be incorporated into alternative lean-to-steer devices, and alternative mechanisms can employ tracking structures to coordinate tilting motion of a first moving element with steering motion of a second moving element to provide a non-linear lean-to-steer response.
