The binding assembly can be configured to dock or undock with the plurality of caps by arranging the second magnet above the first magnet and rotating the binding assembly.

    Abstract: A highback for controlling a gliding board, such as a snowboard, through leg movement of a rider. The highback is comprised of an upright support member including at least two portions that are to be contacted by and to support a rear portion of the rider's leg and that are movable relative to each other for setting a desired forward lean of the highback. The support member may include a lower portion with a pair of mounting locations for mounting the highback to a gliding board component, such as a snowboard binding, and an upper portion movably supported by the lower portion to vary the forward lean of the highback. The lower portion of the support member may be mounted to a snowboard binding baseplate for lateral rotation between a plurality of lateral positions. The highback may include a forward lean adjuster that prevents the upper portion from moving in the heel direction beyond a predetermined forward lean position. The forward lean adjuster may be coupled to the upper portion and the lower portion of the highback to maintain the upper portion in the selected forward lean position independent of the gliding board component. A locking arrangement may also be provided to lock the highback in an upright riding position to prevent toe-edge travel relative to the board for enhanced board response.

    Abstract: A snowboard binding accessory comprising a binding interface and snowboard interface, wherein the binding interface comprises a platform, and the snowboard interface comprises first and second discs. The platform is attached to a snowboard strap binding, and the first and second discs are fixedly attached to a snowboard. The platform comprises a circular recess that fits over the first disc. The second disc provides a rotating surface for the platform. The first disc comprises a channel that extends around the perimeter of the disc. Notches extend from the top surface of the first disc to the channel, and knobs extend horizontally from the side walls of the platform into the recess. To position the platform on the snowboard interface, the knobs are lined up with the notches, and the first disc is inserted into the recess. The knobs move horizontally within the channel, thereby allowing the platform to rotate.

    Abstract: A snowboard binding system includes a boot unit and a binding unit. The boot unit has a boot cradle that has straps that are secured to a snowboard boot and lugs that extend from the sides of the cradle. The binding unit has retainers that releasably engage the lugs of the boot unit. The retainer includes a lever that has a cam and a lever handle and a compression member. When the boot unit is inserted into the binding unit, the lever is actuated to lock the compression member against the lug and securely fasten the boot and boot unit to the board.

    Abstract: A multi-function binding system configured for use on a sliding board comprising: (a) a binding operable with a boot assembly, the binding comprising a support surface and toe and heel pieces extending therefrom; (b) a base assembly configured to be rotatably and removably secured to a deck of a sliding board and to releasably couple the binding during use of the sliding board, the base assembly comprising: (i) a support disc configured to be removably coupled to the deck of the sliding board and to secure the base assembly to the sliding board; (ii) a deck plate rotatable about the support disc and configured to be positioned adjacent the deck; (iii) a bonnet also rotatable about the support disc and configured to receive and engage the binding, the bonnet operable with the deck plate to support one or more components of the base assembly; (iv) adjustment means for facilitating the rotational adjustment of the bonnet and the deck plate about the support disc and with respect to the sliding board, thereby facilitating a plurality of stance orientations of the boot assembly with respect to the sliding board, the adjustment means configured to selectively engage the support disc at any one of a plurality of adjustment positions; (v) coupling means configured to releasably couple the binding to the base assembly, and therefore the boot system to the sliding board, thereby securing a user thereto; and (vi) release means for actuating the coupling means to release the binding from the base assembly, and therefore the boot system from the sliding board.

    Abstract: A universal binding apparatus for detachably securing footwear to an article is disclosed. The apparatus includes a base plate and a foot plate. The base plate attaches to the article while the foot plate attaches to the footwear. The base plate includes a toe latch, a heel latch, and a first release. The toe latch is disposed at a front portion of the base plate while the heel latch is disposed at a rear portion of the base plate such that the first release is also disposed between the toe latch and the heel latch. The first release enables either the toe latch or the heel latch to be disengaged from the foot plate. The foot plate includes a toe support and a heel support. The toe support is disposed at a front portion of the shoe plate similar to the front portion of the base plate and while the heel support is disposed at a rear portion of the shoe plate. The shoe plate removably attaches to the base plate with the toe support engaged with the toe latch and the heel support engaged with the heel latch. The first release operates to disengage either the toe latch or the heel latch or both from the foot plate.
