    Abstract: An exercise device uses a guide member that is rotatably arranged on a shaft. A continuous, flexible pulling member wraps around the guide member and causes the guide member to rotate when the continuous, flexible pulling member is pulled. Two rotatable metal discs are arranged coaxially with the guide member on the shaft, one rotatable metal disc being arranged on each side of the guide member. A gear set is operatively connecting the guide member and the two rotatable metal discs. A magnetic cylinder is arranged substantially parallel to the shaft between the two rotatable metal discs such that a magnetic field passes through radially outer areas of the rotatable metal discs in a substantially axial orientation. The rotatable metal discs and the magnetic cylinder form an eddy current brake which counteracts a pulling motion on the continuous, flexible pulling member.

    Abstract: A rope pulling exercise apparatus with variable resistance has a main supporting frame, a rotary cylinder assembly pivotally mounted on the main supporting frame, a rotary wheel pivotally mounted on the main supporting frame, a driving device and a resistance generating device. The rotary cylinder assembly has a pull-rope wrapped around a rotary cylinder. The driving device has a driving wheel coaxially mounted on the rotary cylinder, a driven wheel coaxially mounted on the rotary wheel, aligning with the driving wheel and being smaller than the driving wheel in radius, and a transmission belt mounted around the driving wheel and the driven wheel. The resistance generating device selectively resists rotation of the rotary wheel. The rope pulling exercise apparatus provides a user one more option on choosing fitness equipments, and increases the user's desire on exercising.

    Abstract: A portable, stable rope-pulling exercise machine. The machine has a stable support frame, a number of rope pulleys and rope guides mounted on the frame, an endless rope extending around the pulleys and guides to form a path which includes a horizontally extending rope pulling portion, and hydraulic braking assembly coupled to the pulley system for controlling the rate of movement of the rope based upon the strength of the user when said user is pulling the rope. The machine allows a user to pull a rope continuously as in a simulated tug-of-war. The short frame allows the device to be installed anywhere. A seat with a footrest allows a user to gain leverage when exercising with the rope.

    Abstract: A rope-climbing machine that has a simplified frame that reduces the cost of manufacture without sacrificing safety and overall strength. The machine is made of three parts-a mast, a base structure and a braking system. The mast is a length of pipe. The endless rope passes through this pipe as part of the operation of the device. There is a guide pulley attached to the top of the mast that directs the rope downwards. The braking system for the rope is attached to the base of the mast. The mast is attached to the back portion of the base, which holds the mast and provides a stable base for the device.

    Abstract: A laptop rope pulling exerciser is composed of a base, an operating device, and a resistance device. The base includes two arched portions recessed inwards respectively at two sides thereof for positioning the user's two laps and a wedged portion at a top end thereof. The operating device includes an elongated housing having a wedging portion positioned respectively at a bottom side of the housing and connected with the wedged portion, two chin portions extending outwards horizontally respectively from a top end and a bottom end of the housing, a plurality of pulleys mounted inside the housing, an interfering portion, and a continuous rope extending through the pulleys and the interfering portion for running inside and outside the housing between the two chin portions. The resistance device is adjustably mounted inside the housing for causing the rope to be tightened or loosened.
