Abstract: A training apparatus with adjustable travel distance includes a base frame including a pair of guide rails extending along a transverse axis, a pair of sliding units each including a pedal coupled to and slidable along one respective guide rail and a stopper located on one lateral side of the pedal, and a pair of travel distance adjusting units each including a guiding member mounted in the base frame and extending along the transverse axis and a rear position-limiting member mounted on the guiding member for stopping against the stopper of one respective pedal and position adjustable relative to the guiding member along the transverse axis to adjust the travel distance of the respective pedal.

Abstract: The subject matter discloses an exercising device enabled to switch between elliptical course and circular course of footrests used by a user, comprising two main wheels, each connected to a different footrest; two connecting rods, the distal end of each connecting rod is connected to each main wheel and the proximal end of each connecting rod is connected to the body of the exercising device, said connecting rods are enabled to move the two main wheels on a horizontal axis.The subject matter also discloses a mechanism within an exercising device enabling both elliptical and circular movement of a footrest in the exercising device, the mechanism comprising: a main wheel connected to the footrest and rotated upon movement of the footrest; a connecting rod connected on its proximal end to the body of the exercising device and on its distal end to the main wheel; wherein the course of the footrest's movement is elliptical when the distal end is connected to a non-centric position on the main wheel and circular when the connecting rod is connected to a centric position on the main wheel or when the connecting rod is not connected to both the main wheel and the body of the exercising device.The footrests and handlebars of the exercising device fit the new motions enabled by the device. A stepper can also be embedded within the exercising device of the disclosed subject matter.

Abstract: An exercise apparatus for simulating stepping or skiing motions includes a support frame, a wheel set, two link rod devices, two slide boards and two pedals. The wheel set is mounted onto the support frame. The two link rods are installed on corresponding sides of the support frame, such that the link rods can be driven by the wheel set. The two slide boards are installed on corresponding sides of the support frame. A hanging hook of each slide board is latched onto the erect stand. At least one roller is installed at bottom of the slide board to slide the slide board on the bottom frame. A pin is provided for securing the two slide boards onto the two second link rods. Users can switch the orbit of the pedals by changing the fixing position of the slide boards to select a stepping or skiing exercise.

Abstract: A differential motion machine for closely simulating natural human motion is provided. A user mountable carriage is designed to slide freely, in the fore and aft directions. The carriage contains a power transfer element, such as pedals, arm levers or the like, which convert the user's motions into a means for propelling the carriage relative to a dynamic element. A dynamic element generally consists of an endless belt or the like driven by a motor or by a slight incline to a base frame which engages the power transfer element. Additionally, a force element causes a force against the carriage preferable relative to the dynamic element. This force to the carriage simulates the drag and other resistances encountered in nature.

Preferably the apparatus can be configured to control speed based on the fore-aft position of the user and without the need for inputting controls, instructions or adjustments manually. Preferably, the device provides for arm exercise which permits the arms to be moved alternately, in parallel, one at a time, or not at all. In one embodiment the same resistance device which provides resistance to leg movement also provides resistance to arm movement, e.g., such that an increase in arm exercise permits a decrease in leg exercise effort while maintaining a constant level of overall effort or speed.

Abstract: A composite fitness machine is provided which is readily adapted to serve as a single integrated device for simulating a walking, stair climbing, and cross country skiing exercise, which can be chosen by a user as desired. The device has right and left endless foot platforms each comprising a movable frame, a roller, and an endless belt. The platforms are each suspended from suspension frames provided on an upright frame affixed vertically to a base in order to simulate a cross-country skiing exercise with the platforms being suspended in a generally horizontal configuration by means of parallel links or triangular links. The platforms can also be arranged so that they are alternately pivoted to simulate a stair climbing exercise. Furthermore, the platforms can also be fixedly inclined slightly rearwards to be flush with each other in order to simulate a walking exercise.
