摘要： A portion of a catheter is positionable within a heart having a left atrium, an aorta, and a septum. The catheter includes an elongate body having a first portion that is configured to be positioned within a left atrium and a second portion that is distal of the first portion and configured to be positioned in the aorta when the first portion is positioned within the left atrium. Each of the first portion and the second portion defining at least one opening extending from an outer surface to an inner surface of the elongate body. An impeller is configured to effect blood flow through the elongate body from the first portion to the second portion. First, second, and third anchors secure the catheter in position within the heart.

According to one aspect, an internal controller is configured to provide power to a motor of an implanted medical device, the power being drawn from at least one of an internal battery and an internal coil, the at least one of the internal battery and the internal coil providing a supplied voltage. The internal controller includes processing circuitry configured to switch to one of the internal battery, the internal coil and a combination of the internal battery and the internal coil, based on a comparison of the supplied voltage to a threshold.

摘要： A system and method for percutaneous ventricular assist devices are provided, where the percutaneous ventricular assist devices include a pump assembly and a cannula assembly. The pump assembly includes one or more connectors at or near a distal end. The cannula assembly includes a cannula and an inflow cage, as well as a mating connector engageable with the connectors of the pump assembly such that the first cannula assembly is attachable to the pump assembly. In various embodiments, the cannula assembly may be fixedly attached or removably attached from the pump assembly.

摘要： Apparatus and methods are described including a ventricular assist device that includes an impeller disposed within a frame and configured to pump blood through a pump-outlet tube and out of one of more blood outlet openings. The frame includes an inner lining. A protective braid is disposed over a distal portion of the frame and configured to block structures from the subject's left ventricle from entering into the frame. A proximal end of the protective braid is embedded between the pump-outlet tube and the inner lining, such that, during crimping of the frame, the braid becomes crimped with the pump-outlet tube and the inner lining, thereby preventing the braid from moving with respect to pump-outlet tube or the inner lining. Other applications are also described.

The elongate cannula has a mesh that has a plurality of circumferential members disposed about the impeller. The elongate cannula has a plurality of axial connector extending between a proximal side of a distal circumferential member and a distal side of a proximal circumferential member. The circumferential members are radially self-expandable. The cannula is configured to minimize fracture within at least in the distal zone of the mesh as the elongated cannula moves into a sheathing device.

摘要： There is provided an intravascular blood pump for insertion into a patient's heart. The blood pump comprises a slotless permanent magnet motor contained within a housing, the motor having p magnet pole pairs and n phases, where p is an integer greater than zero, and n is an integer ≥3. The motor comprises a stator extending along a longitudinal axis of the housing and having 2np coils wound to form two coils per phase per magnet pole pair. The stator comprises inner and outer windings each comprising np coils electrically connected such that the current flowing through the coils is in the same direction, the coils of the outer winding arranged on an outer surface of the coils of the inner winding.

摘要： Apparatus and methods are described including a left-ventricular assist device that includes a pump-outlet tube shaped to define one or more blood-outlet openings and configured for insertion, through an aorta of a subject, into a left ventricle of a heart of the subject such that the pump-outlet tube traverses an aortic valve of the subject with the blood-outlet openings being disposed within the aorta. A blood pump is disposed at least partly within a distal portion of the pump-outlet tube and is configured to pump blood of the subject proximally through the pump-outlet tube. A proximal end of the pump-outlet tube is folded inwardly so as to define one or more surfaces configured to direct the blood through the blood-outlet openings by virtue of being oblique with respect to a longitudinal axis of the pump-outlet tube. Other applications are also described.

The device includes one or more bands, each of which is bonded to an outer wall of the proximal portion of the pump-outlet tube, without extending around a full circumference of the pump-outlet tube, such that, while the proximal portion of the pump-outlet tube is maintained in the open state, the proximal portion of the pump-outlet tube curves at respective locations of the bands. Other applications are also described.
