    摘要: A flow controller controls flow through a deformable conduit by compressing the conduit. The conduit may be compressed along a section of its length. The controller may include a cam driven by an actuator, the cam driving a clamp to compress the conduit. The actuator may be a dial. The cam may be shaped such that the flow rate varies linearly with rotation of the dial. The controller may include a clicker to allow the controller to be set in a number of different positions, allowing ease of adjustment and preventing drift or accidental adjustment of the flow rate.

    摘要: This invention relates to a device to monitor the administration of a fluid through a conduit, such as intravenous fluid, and detect the completion of fluid delivery by monitoring the fluid level inside a chamber. The device will monitor, through an optical fluid sensor comprising a radiation source, two sensors, a logic means, and an indicating means, the bottom half of any “user supplied” drip chamber that is normally full during the administration of fluids. When the fluid level in the chamber drops below a predetermined level, the indicating means will initiate an electromechanical device that releases a pinching device to occlude the conduit. The pinching device is a rotary pincher that derives its force from a torsion spring and is held in the open position by the electromechanical device.

    摘要: An improved pinch mechanism for a fluid flow control assembly. It comprises a trumpet-type actuator moveable along its principal axis to control flow through an associated resilient tubular member. Interconnected with the actuator is a caming assembly having a roller guide with a principal surface sloping at an acute angle with respect to the actuator principal axis. Engaging with that principal surface is a dog-leg shaped cam follower that is pivoted at one end for partial rotational movement about the pivot. It is spring loaded to normally retain it in a position in which a proximal end of the follower is pressed on a resilient surface of the tubular member to squeeze it closed. Partial rotation of the cam follower occurs when the actuator moves along its principal axis and the cam forces the cam follower to move through an arc that permits the squeezed tubular member to assume its normally unsqueezed and open shape.

    摘要: The disclosure is directed to a clamp for flexible tube and more particularly a clamp for surgical use. The clamp is formed of plastic material and has a pair of clamping members connected by a flexible hinge. The flexible hinge biases the clamping members open and a cam with at least one elongated handle closes the clamping members about a flexible tube or vessel. The clamp may be locked by a screw threaded through the cam and which is advanceable into contact with one clamping member. The clamping members are provided with beveled edges to define narrow convex clamping surfaces for the concentrated distribution of the clamping force, and the surfaces have serrations to prevent slippage of the tube from the grasp of the clamp. The clamping members may be curved to facilitate insertion of the clamp into inaccessible body areas during surgical applications.

    摘要: The invention contemplates a hose clamp comprising an elongate channel frame with opposed upstanding side walls from which a compression drum is pivotally suspended. The drum has two arcuate hose-compression surfaces on offset axes. For the compression surface of larger radius, the pivot axis is substantially diametrically opposed to the circumferentially central region of said larger-radius surface; and for the compression surface of smaller radius, the pivot axis is close to the axis of said smaller-radius surface. An integral handle extends in a direction generally transverse to the plane of compression-surface axes. The pivot support provided by the channel walls is such that, in one direction of lowering the handle toward the channel bottom, an inserted flexible hose may be clamped shut, and for the other direction of lowering the handle toward the channel bottom, a fine degree of metering control is achieved for flow in the hose.
