Abstract:
A non compression garment and specially “next to skin” articles based on a fabric coated with a composite material on the basis of metal oxides and inorganic material emitting in the far infrared range which comprises a composite material including a polymer matrix with embedded particles of an inorganic material capable of emitting far-infrared radiation, a fabric surrounding a body part of the user and having at least a part or the whole of it covered with the said composite material which comprises metal oxides and inorganic material, where the fabric is printed with the composite material for forming a pattern, and surrounds any body part of the user, such as arms, throat, torso, thigh, or calf for increasing of the temperature of the skin, improving blood circulation to the microcapillaries thereunder, to the upper and lower limbs, improving the muscle power, decreasing the lactic acid in the muscles and the free radicals, and for reducing the appearance of cellulite.
Abstract:
A patient treatment system for treating a patient includes a cervical collar having a first opening located over a trachea of the patient and a second opening located over a carotid artery of the patient. An aid is disposed in the second opening and includes a base having a curved surface; the base is disposed proximal to a neck of the patient over the carotid artery. The aid also includes a first reacting agent and a second reacting agent. The first reacting agent and the second reacting agent create a thermic reaction when mixed. The aid further includes a first container and a second container. The base is part of the first container including the base; the second container is disposed entirely within in the first container.
Abstract:
A personal seasonal pillow for accommodating different temperatures occurring during different seasons is disclosed comprising a cool side and a warm side opposite the cool side. A gel layer is associated with the cool side containing a fluid gel, and a layer of insulating fill is associated with the warm side. A cool side indicator is associated with the cool side; and a warm side indicator is associated with the warm side whereby the person may easily identify the desired side.
Abstract:
A low back orthosis having a heat reflective liner for providing simple and efficient heat therapy while maintaining restriction and providing support particularly to the iliac and lumbar spine.
Abstract:
A system for delivering thermal therapy to a treated body portion of a subject. The system preferably includes a therapy compress having at least one pocket or retainer, and at least one self-heating element configured for removable insertion within the at least one pocket of the therapy compress. In some example embodiments the therapy compress is in the form of an eye mask having first and second eye-covering lobes, each eye-covering lobe having a pocket for receiving a self-heating element. In some example embodiments the at least one self-heating element is air or oxygen activated, for example including a zinc-based self-heating material.

Abstract:
A moisture and temperature control device on the surface of a support element of a mattress or cushion includes a casing formed by at least two parts defining an interior chamber. Capsules of one or more phase change materials (PCM) are situated in the interior chamber. The capsules have a lowest crystallization temperature that is higher than about 25° C. and have a highest melting temperature that is lower than about 40° C.
Abstract:
A therapeutic wrap adapted to use with a vaporizing ointment for relieving the discomfort of colds and sore throats. The invention includes a therapeutic kit having a vaporizing ointment and a wrap. The wrap is composed of an elongated piece of fabric, preferably flannel. The fabric has a throat end and a chest end. The throat end has a width approximately corresponding to the length of a human neck. The chest end has a width greater than the width of the throat end. At least two mating portions of hook and loop fastener are attached to opposite surfaces of the fabric. The hook and loop fastener secures the wrap around the neck so that the chest end drapes over the chest. The wrap helps to keep the patient's neck and chest warm and protected from drafts so that the vaporizing ointment can have its maximum effect. The wrap also protects the patient's clothing. The wrap is comfortable, looks neat, and holds securely, so that the patient's mobility is enhanced. The invention includes a method of treating colds and sore throats by applying the vaporizing ointment to the neck and chest, covering the neck and chest with a wrap, and securing the wrap with hook and loop fastener.
Abstract:
Therapeutic waistcoat for the treatment of ailments in the cervical and neck-arm region, e.g. cervical syndrome, omarthrose, periarthritis. The waistcoat tightly encloses the entire upper part of the body and has a collar part at least twice as long as the neck. The collar folds down to form a stiff collar; if desired, an additional neck support may be inserted into it. With or without additional neck support, the collar is dimensioned in a way to assure contact pressure by the collar part on the entire neck region up to the jaw and the base of the skull. The fabric of the waistcoat, including the collar part, consists of an electrostatically active knit made of a mix of polyvinyl chloride and acrylic fibres. The supporting effect applied in the neck region in combination with the increased heat effect caused by the contact pressure results in a therapeutic effect in the cervical range which radiates to the areas of the shoulder and elbow joints.
