    摘要: Orthodontic bracket assemblies with torque-adjusting drums. The drum defines at least a majority of the archwire slot of the corresponding bracket assembly, and the drum may be selectively rotated about its longitudinal axis to adjust the prescriptive force that is applied to a patient's tooth during orthodontic use of the bracket assembly. The bracket assembly includes a positioning assembly that selectively retains the drum in a selected orientation relative to the base of the bracket assembly, thereby defining a prescription to be imparted by the bracket assembly to a patient's tooth. In some embodiments, the bracket assembly includes a biasing mechanism that selectively urges the positioning assembly to a position in which the drum is, or is not, retained in a selected position. In some embodiments, the bracket includes a release mechanism that selectively disengages the positioning assembly to permit adjustment of the drum.

    摘要: An assembly of a self-ligating bracket intended to be part of an orthodontic apparatus. The bracket having in the longitudinal direction thereof an outer face and an occlusal face and being provided on the outer face thereof with a groove for holding an orthodontic arch wire. An elastic clip that can be moved in a reversible manner between an open position, leaving a free passage for the insertion of the arch wire into the groove or the extraction of the arch wire from the groove, and a closed position closing off the groove. The clip being moveable between said positions by a rotational movement, without the clip sliding in translation.

    摘要: The orthodontic archwire bracket comprises a base body (10) having a base element (11) to be fixed to a tooth and a bracket body (20) having a socket element (25) surrounded by a perimetric wall (32) including two opposed slot portions (21a, 21b) forming a slot (21) to receive an archwire. The base and bracket bodies (10, 20) are connected by a ball and socket joint coupling. The perimetric wall (32) has a slit (33) providing a gap. A control element (60) mounted on the bracket body (20) is changeable between locking and unlocking positions to expand or constrict the bracket body (20) by increasing or reducing the gap. The ball and socket joint coupling is locked by friction when the control element (50) is in the locking position and the ball and socket joint coupling is unlocked enabling relative movement in three coordinate axes when the control element (50) is in the unlocking position.

    摘要: Orthodontic anchoring method and custom appliances affixed to teeth, TADs and/or tooth positioning, moving and stabilization appliances and/or orthodontic auxiliaries. Each appliance has mechanical fasteners structured to secure segments of a curable flexible resin rope called a flex fit module (FFM). The FFM is moldable and adaptable to the oral cavity between mechanical fasteners in an uncured first mode where it is cut to length, positioned around the anatomy of the mouth and attached to clamps or fasteners and/or flex fit wafers FFW(s) at each or one end. Each fastener has a clamp or fastener attached to orthodontic auxiliaries, orthodontic appliances or onto a TAD for anchorage purposes. One end of this custom appliance is usually attached via a clamp or fastener manufactured as part of a bracket or band to a tooth. The other end is connected to an appliance, tad, flex fit wafer or auxiliary. Once connected together the system is cured and becomes a solid entity ready to accept orthodontic forces.
