摘要: An ultrasound device (1) for carrying out a breast diagnostic examination for breast cancer diagnosis, comprising two ultrasound probes, characterized in that each of said probes comprises: a first array of piezoelectric transducers with a first nominal frequency (f1), and a second array of piezoelectric transducers with a second nominal frequency (f2), the probes being arranged opposite to each other, being configured to rotate along a circular trajectory having for center the midpoint of the segment connecting them and to slide to each other along said straight line connecting them, coming in contact with the breast of the patient from diametrically opposite portions, in that the arrays comprise each a plurality of piezoelectric transducers, positioned so that acquisitions are carried out on a plane of acquisition orthogonal to the plane of the circular trajectory.

摘要: A system and method for capturing ultrasound signals from a hemispheric imaging region (e.g., by a stationary array of transducer elements arranged in the shape of a faceted hemisphere) and estimating scattering measurements that would be made by a virtual array in the opposite hemisphere (e.g., by a network of processors that receive and process the transmitted ultrasound signals in parallel) by forming an initial estimate of a medium variation for each of a plurality of subvolumes in the scattering object to form an estimated object, calculating residual scattering by using a difference between a scattering response calculated for the estimated object and measured ultrasound signals received from the scattering object, forming an initial three-dimensional image of the scattering object, and extrapolating a difference between the scattering response calculated for the estimated object and the measured ultrasound signals received from the scattering object.

摘要: A method for characterizing tissue of a patient, including receiving acoustic data derived from the interaction between the tissue and the acoustic waves irradiating the tissue; generating a morphology rendering of the tissue from the acoustic data, in which the rendering represents at least one biomechanical property of the tissue; determining a prognostic parameter for a region of interest in the rendering, in which the prognostic parameter incorporates the biomechanical property; and analyzing the prognostic parameter to characterize the region of interest. In some embodiment, the method further includes introducing a contrast agent into the tissue; generating a set of enhanced morphology renderings of the tissue after introducing the contrast agent; determining an enhanced prognostic parameter from the enhanced morphology renderings; and analyzing the enhanced prognostic parameter.

摘要: An object information acquiring apparatus comprises a light irradiation unit configured to irradiate an object with light; a sound generating member arranged between the object and the light irradiation unit and configured to generate a substantially planar ultrasonic wave based on the irradiated light; an acoustic wave probe configured to acquire an acoustic wave generated inside the object due to the light and convert the acoustic wave into a first electric signal; and an information generating unit configured to generate information concerning optical characteristics of an interior of the object, based on the first electric signal, wherein the sound generating member allows a part of the light irradiated from the light irradiation unit to pass through the sound generating member to the object.

摘要: Apparatus and method for detecting ultrasound images from a body under examination. The apparatus comprises a unit emitting ultrasound pulses and a unit receiving ultrasound pulses. The emitting unit and the receiving unit face each other and are spaced apart by a predetermined distance. These units are arranged at opposite sides of a cavity housing the body under examination. The ultrasound pulses emitted from the emitting unit are received by the receiving unit after passing through the body under examination and are transformed into transmission signals. Included is a control unit for the emitting unit, a unit processing the received signals, image generating device and image displaying device. The processing unit comprises a unit comparing the values of a propagation speed of ultrasound pulses and/or of the attenuation of ultrasound pulses with predetermined threshold values.
