    摘要: An Achilles tendon repair device comprises a handle for physician gripping and base having a first set of tendon rods disposed in an arcuate or U-shaped pattern about the base to engage the posterior surface of the tendon and impart a contour, or drape, the tendon in the posterior-anterior plane to increase the surface area for suturing. A second set of suture guide rods extend from the sides of the base and are spaced apart to allow insertion of suture needles along the entire length of the suture guide rods, and at any angle. A suture needle housing guide can be slidingly attached to the suture guide rods and includes sidewalls with predefined suture holes/angles. An adjustable clamping arm can engage the tendon's posterior surface such that the device grasps the tendon on both the anterior and posterior tendon surfaces simultaneously, while increasing posterior-anterior plane surface area to facilitate suturing.

    摘要: A heart valve sizing ring is disclosed. The sizing ring includes an outer ring and an inner ring configured and arranged to couple to the outer ring. A tubular portion extends from the inner ring and has a plurality of suture holders arranged about an upper end thereof. The outer ring and inner ring having a pair of complementary mating surfaces configured and arranged to grip sutures therebetween when coupled together. When coupled around sutures, the assembled ring may be tightened down against the heart valve to test the fit as if the sizing ring were a similarly sized prosthetic heart valve ring. Commissures of the heart valve may be suspended from the suture holders of the tubular portion. The surgeon can then remove the sizing ring and replace it with a prosthetic ring.

    摘要: The present invention is a surgical suturing device that assists in applying an open-looped, pre-knotted suture around a targeted area of application. The surgical suturing device contains a handle, a grasping mechanism, a first jaw, a second jaw, a first coupler, and a second coupler. The first jaw and the second jaw each contains a jaw body and a coupler receiver. The first coupler and the second coupler each contains a strand receiver. The handle is operatively connected to the first jaw and the second jaw through the grasping mechanism. The coupler receiver is positioned adjacent to the jaw body, opposite to the grasping mechanism along the jaw body. The first coupler is removably positioned within the coupler receiver of the first jaw. The strand receiver traverses into the first coupler and the second coupler. The second coupler is removably positioned within the coupler receiver of the second jaw.

    摘要: A heart valve prosthetic ring assembly includes an outer ring, and an inner ring configured and arranged to couple to the outer ring. The outer ring and inner ring having a pair of complementary mating surfaces configured and arranged to grip sutures therebetween when coupled together. Once coupled around sutures, the assembled ring set may be tightened down against the heart valve annulus to test the fit. If there are fit issues, the surgeon can remove the current ring set and replace it with another ring set of a different size/shape to determine a better fit. Once a proper size is determined, the surgeon may utilize the selected paired ring set as the final prosthetic reinforcing ring. The paired ring set may be secured in place with suture clasps which secure the ring sutures in place relative to the annulus and the ring set.
