Abstract: A folding chair has a seat component, a back component and a leg component. The seat component has a seat rear and a guide-support bar. The leg component comprises two pairs of legs, the first pair comprising a first and second leg and the second pair comprising a third and fourth leg. A cross member extends from the third leg to the fourth leg. The back component comprises a vertical element. The bottom of the vertical element is connected to the cross member and extends upwardly therefrom. The seat front is pivotally attached to the first and second legs and the seat rear is not connected to either the leg component or the back component, allowing the seat rear to slidably travel along vertical element. When the seat rear is at the vertical element top, the chair is in a folded configuration. When the seat rear is situated at the vertical element bottom, the chair is in a first sitting configuration. The vertical element includes at least one catch adapted to receive the guide-support bar and hold the seat rear such that the chair is in a second sitting configuration.

Abstract: A folding chair, having a seat and a backrest hinged together and supported by two pairs of crossed legs pivotably associated one with another, is adjusted by way of a device making use of a pivot, associated with the top end of one leg and rotatable about its own axis, which features an oval head with a double cam profile and a pin extending issuing from the head; the pin and the head occupy first and second tracks of substantially zig-zag profile, integral with or fitted to the chair seat, and adjustment of the reclining angle of the chair is effected by moving the pivot along the tracks from end to end through a sequence of mandatory steps that coincide with a plurality of stable positions of the pivot, each corresponding to a given angle of the backrest.

Abstract: A relatively straight back curves forward at the lower end at a small angle to the longitudinal axis of the back to form an integral supporting foot portion, and at the approximate center of the length of each side member of the back a pivot journal or stud projects inwardly to selectively engage in detents in the lower edge of an armrest when used as a chair. The armrest is pivoted adjacent the opposite end to the top portion of a pivotable foot which is pivoted to the supporting foot portion to form an adjustable cross therewith. The pivot journal engages the armrest lower edge adjacent the pivot connection with pivotable foot when used as a chaise lounge. A seat is pivoted at one end to the side member in proximity to the pivot journal and is supported in a chair position by a removable crossbar engaging the underside thereof and recesses in strips connected on the inside of the pivotable foot. Stop pins project from the strips and in the chaise lounge position engage the forward edge of the supporting foot portion, in which position a recess beneath the seat engages a stationary cross strut on the pivotable foot or a removable crossbar across the forward edges of the supporting foot portion for two adjusted positions of the reclining seat surface.

Abstract: An embodiment is a lightweight, packable seat that includes a seat platform, two shafts for support, straps with respective buckles, or similar, that secure the seat to a vertical object, such as a tree. The seat may be made of a lightweight flexible material that is held in a stiff orientation that extends outward from the tree through coupling to the upper strap at the proximal end of the seat and the shafts at a distal end of the seat, where the shafts project downward toward a proximal location at the tree at the lower strap. Use of the lower strap means that the shafts do not contact a ground surface, thereby providing stability. The shafts may be made of composites or aluminum, for example, such that the entire weight of the seat may weigh just a few ounces while exhibiting strengths and stability.
