摘要： A mattress-retention system is provided that maintains a mattress in place on an adjustable bed base. The base has a decking with sections that articulate to move the mattress into any of a variety of support positions. The decking is typically covered with a fabric. A pattern of micro-hook strips is coupled to the fabric, facing outwardly towards the mattress. The pattern of micro-hook strips may be contained within only one section, but may also be contained in other sections, or may cross-over multiple sections. This pattern of micro-hook strips interacts with the mattress to retain it in place.

摘要： A mattress lifter includes an air bladder sized to fit between a mattress and a mattress foundation, so that when inflated the air bladder lifts the mattress from the mattress foundation sufficiently to allow removal and replacement of bed linens and easy tucking of bedding under the mattress. Height-limiting material within the air bladder limits a height of the air bladder when the air bladder is inflated. An air pump inflates the air bladder by pumping air through a connection hose. When the air pump is turned on, air moves from the air pump to the air bladder inflating the air bladder. When the air pump is turned off, air moves from the air bladder to the air pump so that the air bladder automatically deflates when the air pump is turned off.

摘要： A system is disclosed for facilitating rotation of a mattress in a horizontal plane carried by a box spring or a platform. In order to facilitate rotation, slick surfaces between the mattress and the box spring or platform are selectively placed in engagement with each other, in one embodiment of the invention. The slick surfaces may be provided by two (2) separate covers; one cover for the mattress and one cover for the box spring, platform or bed skirt. One cover is provided with a slick and non-slick surface. The other cover may be the same as the first cover or may have sock surfaces on two sides. In an alternate embodiment of the invention, one of the covers may be provided as a protective cover that encapsulates the entire mattress. In another alternate embodiment, one cover may be provided that cooperates with a suck surface that is integrally provided on one or the other of the mattress or box spring or platform. In yet another alternate embodiment of the invention, slick surfaces may be provided on both the mattress and the box spring or platform. In this embodiment, in order to prevent movement of the mattress with respect to the box spring or platform, the mattress is secured relative to the box spring or platform by removable fasteners in a normal mode of operation.

摘要： A device is disclosed for facilitating rotation of a mattress in a horizontal plane carried by a box spring or a platform. In order to facilitate rotation, slick surfaces between the mattress and the box spring or platform are selectively placed in contact in order to reduce the normal friction therebetween. The slick surfaces may be provided by two (2) separate covers; one cover for the mattress and one cover for the box spring or platform. A first cover is provided with a slick and non-slick surface. In order to further facilitate rotation, a second cover includes a slick surface on one side and forms part of a levitation device. The other side of the second cover may be formed with a slick or a non-slick surface. The levitation device creates an air cushion between the mattress and the box spring under the influence of an air supply which lifts the mattress and allows the mattress to be rotated in a horizontal plane virtually effortlessly. Once the mattress has been rotated to the desired position, the air supply is removed and the first cover is attached to the underside of the mattress so that its non-slick side is in contact with the box spring or platform or bed skirt and its slick side is in contact with the slick side of the other cover and the levitation device defining a normal mode of operation. In a rotate mode of operation, the first cover is attached to the box spring or platform so that its non-slick surface is in contact therewith. Alternatively, the first cover may be integrally incorporated into the box spring or a slick surface may be integrally formed on the platform that forms part of the platform bed. In this embodiment, in order to reduce movement of the mattress with respect to the box spring or platform, the mattress is secured relative to the box spring or platform by removable fasteners in a normal mode of operation. In yet another alternate embodiment of the invention, a portion of the levitation device may be built into the mattress.

摘要： An apparatus for lifting a mattress so as to facilitate the bed making process and make changing bed linens less strenuous. The apparatus comprises an inflatable member disposed between a mattress and box springs of a bed and having each of a predetermined shape and a predetermined size and being formed of a predetermined material. A fluid communication means is engageable at a first end thereof with the inflatable member and an air pump is engageable with a second end of the fluid communication means for providing air for inflating the inflatable member. A power means is engageable with the air pump for providing power to operate the air pump and a switch means is engageable between the power means and the air pump means for activating and deactivating the air pump. A valve means is disposed in one of the fluid communication means and the pump means for controlling inflation and deflation of the inflatable member as desired.
