摘要： A shelf sign is designed for use with a conventional bookend that typically includes a horizontal plate for slipping beneath a book, and a U-shaped retainer vertically extending therefrom. The sign includes a planar display member having a pair of juxtaposed pockets formed therein. A first, wide pocket receives the U-shaped retainer on the bookend and a second, narrow pocket receives any one of a plurality of identification strips to describe a particular category to be displayed on a shelf. Accordingly, when a user positions the bookend next to a group of items in a conventional fashion, the identification strip is readily visible from either end of an aisle.

摘要： A bookend that is formed from a single piece of sheet metal that is folded into a base, an upright, and a brace that has a free end. The single piece of sheet metal has a pair of edges and a fold line. The fold line and one edge form the base therebetween and the fold line and the other edge form the upright therebetween. The upright is maintained upright relative to the base by the brace. The base is divided into an outer base and an inner base. The inner base is cut out of the outer base and is coplanar therewith when folded outwardly therefrom. The upright is maintained vertical relative to the base when the brace is folded diagonally outwardly from the upright and the free end of the brace is affixed to the inner base.

摘要： A bookend system that has first and second relatively moveable members. Each moveable member has a substantially planar vertical surface for engaging objects to be held therebetween and a horizontal leg. The horizontal leg of the first member has a central open are with opposed parallel interior edges which receives the horizontal leg of the second member, which has interfitting opposed parallel edges. The adjacent edges of the first member and the second member are connected by at least one joiner that slidably captures the parallel edges. The joiner may take the configuration of an I-beam, having upper and lower flanges joined together by a central web. In such an embodiment, the opposed parallel edges of the first and second members are captured in a slot formed between the flanges of the joiner.

摘要： A display mount and book support apparatus includes a base panel adapted to sit on a surface along with a pair of angled panels each attached to one edge of the base panel with a ductile hinge and extending at an angle over the base panel. A pair of generally upright panels are each attached to one edge of one angled panel and extend in a generally vertically direction. The upright panels are spaced from each other in a generally parallel spaced relationship whereby books or other materials can be wedged between the upright panels and rest on one side of the base panel. The ductile hinges are of an increased rigidity over those normally used in the industry and have been alloyed with magnesium, copper, iron and manganese to thereby increase the resistance to bending.

摘要： A bookend for use on a metal shelf is formed by bending from a single sheet of metal to form an upstanding plate and flat tongue so that the tongue can lie on the metal shelf with the plate upstanding. The tongue includes an extension portion extending to the opposed side of the plate relative to the main part of the tongue with an upstanding handle on the end of the extension portion. The underside of the tongue carries a layer of resilient felt surrounding an elongate central magnetic strip which extends substantially along the full length of the tongue. The magnetic is sufficient to provide additional friction between the bookend and the shelf to prevent toppling under the weight of the book.
