This invention features magnetic, laundry tolerant, no-sew button adapters that convert traditional shirt buttons into magnetic closures to help people with dexterity limitations. The adapters simply attach to any shirt to help make getting dressed easier and a restore a crucial activity of daily living. Users can simply push the lapels of a shirt together to engage magnetic force, activating the buttons to snap into place. The shirt can be opened easily by pulling the lapels apart to undress.

A display button mounting devices for mounting a display button to an item is disclosed. The device comprises a button attachment area and a raised perimeter boundary. The button attachment area is configured to receive a display button. The button attachment area has an attachment device configured to removably join the button in the button attachment area. The raised perimeter boundary surrounds the button attachment area and is configured to secure the button against lateral displacing forces.
Abstract:
A necktie assembly for enhancing an ornamental appearance of a necktie includes a necktie that may be worn around a neck. The necktie has a plurality of button holes extending therethrough. A plurality of buttons is provided and each of the buttons is coupled to the necktie. A selected one of the buttons engages a selected one of the button holes when the necktie is worn. Thus, the plurality of buttons enhances an ornamental appearance of the necktie.

An improved one-piece fastener for retaining a loop shank button in the buttonhole of a garment. The fastener is in the form of a planar disk having a solid margin and a central portion within the margin that is notched to define a pair of mutually parallel deflectable legs sized and spaced to permit their partial insertion through the loop shank of the button. The legs of the fastener are contoured to define a detent position in which the loop shank seats to securely attach the fastener to the loop shank and thereby retain the loop shank button in the buttonhole of the garment. One longitudinal end of the fastener margin is provided with an extension or tab by which a user can conveniently grasp the fastener during its installation and removal.

The inventive subject matter provides an ornament assembly comprising a fastener that is configured to simultaneously couple with an ornament and an accessory. The fastener could be configured such that the ornament could be replaced with one or more different ornaments without any damage to the fastener or ornament. Additionally or alternatively, the fastener could be configured to be removed from the accessory and coupled with a different accessory of the same or different size without any damage to the fastener or the accessory.

A component for manufacturing an apparel accessory or a fastening element is formed of a molten thermoplastic polymer and an additive distributed into the molten thermoplastic polymer. A method of manufacturing said apparel accessory or said fastening element made of said component includes a step of fixedly molding the component of the present invention to a base of an accessory. A molded product made of said component is well decorative and highly durable.
