Abstract:
A bra having a front portion, a back portion, a torso band and a pair of shoulder straps. Areas of the front portion are selectively provided with an inner ply, an outer ply, and an intermediate fabric ply. The intermediate fabric ply is formed of a relatively supportive material and is configured to be positioned along the top and lateral sides of a wearer's breasts.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present disclosure include a pad configured to relieve neck pressure and a method of manufacturing thereof. The pressure relief pad includes a flexible body configured to be folded into a sleeve. The pressure relief pad also includes at least one fastener configured to secure a first edge of the body over a second edge of the body when the body is folded. The pressure relief pad is configured to be worn on the back of a neck of a person.
Abstract:
A non-slip or anti-slip buffer device which is to be affixed to the underside of shoulder straps of purses, bags, bras, shoulder straps on clothing, backpacks, luggage, cameras, guns, etc. . . . to help prevent the strap or straps from sliding off of the shoulder of the user while remaining concealed from view. The non-slip buffer device is a self-adhesive, flexible, semi-permanent, device made of a slip resistant material. Position the self-adhesive side to the underside of the strap at the shoulder area, the pressure created from the normal tension of the shoulder strap against the wearer's shoulder along with the slip resistant material or coating prevent or minimize slippage of the strap on the user's shoulder.
Abstract:
A non-slip shoulder strap retainer which is designed to be of a width no greater than the shoulder strap on which it is to be used, thus providing a non-obstructive, discreet solution in minimizing or preventing slippage of shoulder straps. The retainer comprises a substantially flat fabric portion bearing hooks protruding therefrom for engaging an underside of a shoulder strap, the fabric portion comprising an upper surface of the retainer. A non-slip material portion is connected to and in opposed relationship with the fabric portion, the non-slip material portion comprising a bottom surface of the retainer and in contact with a shoulder area of a wearer. When positioned, the retainer is positioned directly underneath the shoulder strap so as to be concealed from view.
Abstract:
A shoulder protecting assembly includes an article of clothing that is removably worn on a shoulder. A panel has a top side, a bottom side, first end, a second end, a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge. The panel is arcuate from the first end to the second end so that the bottom side is concave. The panel is comprised of a resiliently compressible material. A plate is positioned within the panel and generally extends between the first and second ends. The plate is comprised of a rigid material. A fastening assembly releasably attaches the bottom side of the panel to an outer surface of the clothing so that the panel is positioned over the shoulder. A strap may be positioned on the upper side of the panel.
Abstract:
A non-slip, or anti-slip retainer that is to be attached to the underside of the strap of slips, bathing suits, brassieres, and other types of similar apparel having shoulder straps, and/or articles of luggage having shoulder straps, so as to position the strap firmly upon the wearer's shoulder to prevent lateral movement while remaining concealed from view. The retainer consists of hook fastener material adhered to a slip resistant material. Alternatively, the underside of the hook fastener material could be coated with an appropriate non-slip coating or laminate instead of adhering said hook fastener directly to a slip resistant material. The hook fastener attaches to the underside of the shoulder strap at the shoulder area while the slip resistant material or coating is held against the wearer's shoulder.
Abstract:
A strap suspender for a brassiere uses for holding either a cloth strap or a bead strap. The strap suspender for a brassiere has a body and a holder. The holder is pivotally mounted on the body. The body has a transverse lip formed on the body and a central slot defined through the transverse lip. The cloth straps and the bead straps can pass through the central slot and be held by the transverse lip or the holder.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a cushioning laminate insert for a garment shoulder strap, such as a brassiere strap. The cushioning laminate insert of the invention includes: (1) a first outer fabric layer; (2) a central cushioning area of cured polyurethane elastomer cushioning material; and (3) a second outer fabric layer. One surface of the first and second outer fabric layers is laminated with a thermoplastic urethane (“TPU”) film. The laminated surface of the first outer fabric layer is covalently bonded to a first lateral surface of the central cushioning area, and the opposite lateral surface of the central cushioning area is self-adhered to the laminated surface of the second outer fabric layer in an open-sandwich configuration to thereby form the cushioning laminate insert. Garment shoulder straps including the cushioning laminate insert of the invention, as well as methods for making the cushioning laminate insert are also provided.
Abstract:
A protective garment, such as a protective coat or protective coveralls, for a firefighter or for an emergency worker is provided with a shoulder pad, which is worn between the protective coat and a shoulder of a wearer. The shoulder pad is attached detachably, as by a hook-and-loop fastener, to a shoulder strap of suspenders worn by the wearer or to the protective garment. The shoulder pad contains a bladder, which is adapted to be inflated with a suitable fluid, preferably air, so to increase an air space between the protective coat and the shoulder of the wearer. The air space provides thermal insulation between the protective garment and the shoulder of the wearer.
Abstract:
A brassiere shoulder strap is provided that is shaped so that it conforms to the shape of the shoulder of the wearer. By conforming to the shape of the shoulder, the strap provides and maintains a cushioning effect. The shoulder strap has a curvilinear shaped area that is wider than a conventional brassiere strap in order to increase the size of the load bearing region of the wearer's shoulder. This curvilinear shaped area has an outer cover that surrounds an interior hollow portion. This interior hollow portion is filled with a cushioning material. In a preferred embodiment, the cushioning material is a silicone gel.
