    摘要: The present invention provides an apparatus for coating an edible receptacle the apparatus comprising a nozzle for applying a fat-based coating material to the internal surface of the edible receptacle and a gas-dosing element with an external surface shape corresponding to the internal shape of the edible receptacle wherein the gas dosing element has at least one aperture suitable for the introduction of cooled gas into the edible receptacle. The invention also provides a process for manufacturing a coated edible receptacle for a frozen confection comprising the steps of: providing an edible receptacle; at least partially coating the internal surface of the edible receptacle by spraying a fat-based coating onto the internal surface of the edible receptacle; and introducing a gas-dosing element into the edible receptacle, wherein the gas-dosing element has an external surface shape corresponding to the internal shape of the edible receptacle and wherein cooled gas is introduced into the edible receptacle through the gas-dosing element and wherein the gas dosing element does not come into contact with the fat-based coating.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for assembling and vending a food or drink product using a machine having a viewing window into the interior thereof. The user selects through a user interface one of a plurality of characters, then selects through the interface the ingredients to include in the product. The ingredients are dispensed into a receptacle that is moved between dispensing locations within the machine by a robotic arm. An animated sequence, soundtrack and lighting pattern is associated with each character. As the robotic arm assembles the product, the animated sequence, soundtrack and lighting for the selected character are run and shown on a display. The user is able to watch the movements of the robotic arm and the animated sequence simultaneously.

    摘要: Systems, methods and an apparatus for making a frozen confection comprising a malleable outer layer of a first edible substance suitable for forming a shape or configuration to contain a second edible substance are provided. In at least one embodiment of the invention, the outer layer of the first edible substance, e.g., ice cream, is sufficiently malleable such that the outer layer can be rolled and/or folded over the second edible substance, e.g. flavored filling, to form a frozen confection. The outer layer is sufficiently thin such that no air or minimal air is contained in the outer layer to help to prevent or to at least minimize/reduce the formation of ice crystals in the outer layer. Minimizing/reducing the formation of ice crystals helps to prevent or to at least minimize/reduce breaking and cracking of the outer layer during shaping, and helps to preserve a sufficient malleability of the outer layer. Alternatively, in another embodiment, the first edible substance is formed by an emulsification process to form an emulsion from which the outer layer is configured. In other embodiments, the outer layer can be formed into a shape or configuration using a mold and can be filled with the second edible substance. The outer layer can also be formed using a mold or other shaping devices to produce a solid frozen confection.
