    Abstract: A finger roller is provided for agricultural machines, and includes a plurality of elastically deformable finger disks that are disposed on a driven shaft closely adjacent to one another. The hub of each finger disk has a plurality of elastically deformable fingers projecting therefrom. Each hub has at least one insert for increasing its axial rigidity, and/or it is made of a material that is harder than its fingers.

    Abstract: An impeller assembly having a housing supporting a rotatable impeller. The housing has a bottom entrance opening and a top exit opening separated by a curved back wall. A liner of low friction and abrasion resistant plastic material located adjacent a portion of the inside of the back wall prevents material buildup on the back wall. The liner is removeably mounted on the housing so that it can be replaced without taking the housing apart. The impeller has a plurality of pivoted paddle assemblies. Each paddle assembly has a body carrying a generally U-shaped liner of low friction and abrasion resistant material to minimize the collection of material on the paddle assemblies. The housing includes a knife adjacent the entrance opening. The body of the impeller assembly has a transverse lip that moves in close relation relative to the knife to cut material.

    Abstract: An apparatus for removing foliage from row crops including a frame adapted to be connected to a prime mover for movement in a forward direction. A plurality of rotors are rotatably attached to the frame and are disposed transversely to the forward direction of movement thereof. A mechanism is provided for selectively rotating the rotor. A first brush is attached to each rotor at a first place on the rotor, a second brush is attached to each rotor at a second place on the rotor, the second brush being spaced from the first brush. An adjusting structure is provided for selectively adjusting the relative positions of the first and second brushes on each rotor with respect to each other for adjusting for the width of rows of crops.
