    Abstract: The present invention provides a method for pretreatment of a biological sample in order to measure a protein contained in the biological sample by liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry. The method includes the step of adding an acetic acid aqueous solution to the biological sample, so as to prepare a pretreatment sample containing an acetic acid at a concentration ranging from 20 to 50 weight percent, both inclusive. In the present invention, a target protein contained in a biological sample is less prone to be adsorbed to a sample container, thereby resulting in an increased sensitivity of measuring the protein in the biological sample by mass spectrometry. Further, reproducibility of results of the mass spectrometry is improved, and reliability is increased.

A biomagnetic measuring device according to the present invention includes: a first magnetic sensor and a second magnetic sensor that each include a cell having an internal space, and detect biomagnetism utilizing an optical pumping action by plasma generated in the cell; a plasma generator that supplies electric power for generating plasma in the internal space of each of the cells included in the first magnetic sensor and the second magnetic sensor; and a power supply controller that controls the plasma generator to generate plasma in the first magnetic sensor from a first start time to a first end time and generate plasma in the second magnetic sensor from a second start time after the first start time to a second end time after the first end time.

    Abstract: A switching mechanism 110 can perform switching to a pressurized state in which gas is supplied from a pipe 203 to an insertion tube 101, or a derivation state in which gas in a head space 23 that is pressurized is derived from the insertion tube 101 to the pipe 207 via a collection unit 104. The switching mechanism 110 includes a discharge valve 103 that puts the insertion tube 101 and the pipe 207 into a non-communication state in the pressurized state and puts the insertion tube 101 and the pipe 207 into a communication state in the derivation state. A resistance pipe 206 supplies gas to a channel between the collection unit 104 and the discharge valve 103 in the derivation state.

    Abstract: A head-up display device that projects display light onto a windshield of a manned vehicle and directs the display light reflected by the windshield toward the observer's eyes to form a virtual image in front of the observer's eyes, includes: an image emitting unit for forming parallel light beams different in angle at each location on the image and emit the light beams as display light; a light guide for emitting the light beams as the display light by expanding the light beams while maintaining the parallelism thereof; and a correcting lens arranged on an optical path between the light guide and the windshield. The correcting lens has a curved surface shape that deflects a light transmission direction according to a curved surface shape of a reflective surface of the windshield so that the display light becomes parallel after being reflected by the windshield.

    Abstract: In a container, a sample is separated with a heavy solution based on a specific gravity. An overflow pipe is a pipe provided at an upper portion of the container, the overflow pipe being arranged to cause a supernatant containing a target substance separated by gravity separation in the container to overflow from the upper portion of the container. A control device controls entry and exit of the heavy solution into and from the container. The control device causes some of the supernatant produced by gravity separation to flow over the container through the overflow pipe, thereafter causes the supernatant that remains in the overflow pipe to flow back into the container, and then causes the supernatant to flow over again through the overflow pipe.
