摘要: A method of forming a magnetic assembly having at least one magnetic layer having dimensions of thickness, width and length, and at least one printable substrate layer having dimensions of thickness, width and length, including the steps of providing a molten magnetic composition including about 70 wt-% to about 95 wt-% of at least one magnetic material and about 5 wt-% to about 30 wt-% of at least one thermoplastic binder, forming the magnetic composition into a magnetic layer at an elevated temperature and directly applying the magnetic layer at an elevated temperature to a first surface of a printable substrate layer wherein. An adhesion promoting composition may be further provided between the magnetic layer and the printable substrate layer for improving adhesion between the magnetic layer and the printable substrate layer.

摘要: A unitary method of making a printed magnetic assembly is disclosed, the printed magnetic assembly comprising at least one magnetic layer and at least one printable substrate layer in the form of a sheet or roll, the method comprising the steps of: a) providing a molten magnetic hot melt composition comprising about 70 wt-% to about 95 wt-% of at least one magnetic material and about 5 wt-% to about 30 wt-% of at least one thermoplastic binder; b) directly extruding the magnetic composition at an elevated temperature when it is pliable onto the printable substrate layer with a single screw or double screw extruder to form at least one discrete thin magnetic layer on the printable substrate to form a layered sheet or roll; d) feeding the roll or sheet through a printing press at a speed of about 60 feet/minute to about 1000 feet/minute; e) printing on the printable substrate layer using at least one method selected from the group consisting flexo, gravure, digital and screen printing; and f) permanently magnetizing the magnetic layer, and articles made thereby.

摘要: A magnetically resealable bag including a polymer substrate. The polymer substrate including a front panel, a back panel, a closed bottom and an opening. The inside of the opening including a first side strip and a second side strip. The first side strip and second side strip include a layer of a magnetizable composition, and at least one layer of a polymer material arranged to provide a covering over the layer of the magnetizable composition. A top portion of the first side strip is coupled to the inside at the front panel of the bag and a top portion of the second side strip is coupled to the inside of the back panel of the bag, and a bottom portion of the first and second side strip is free of the inside of the opening. The first side strip and second side strip are aligned and permanently magnetized.

摘要: A magnetic roller may comprise a magnetized outer surface and an internal chamber. A temperature control system may be in communication with the internal chamber, and a fluid capable of heat transfer may circulate within the internal chamber and the temperature control system. The magnetic roller may be used to produce magnetic sheets having magnetizable particles that are aligned according the a magnetic field generated by the magnetic roller. The magnetic sheet may be provided in a pliable form wherein magnetizable particles may shift orientation when exposed to the magnetic field. Heat may be transferred between the sheet and the magnetic roller to cause solidification of the magnetic material and prevent dealignment of the magnetic particles.
