    摘要: A solid state form of a dye-solution absorption filter is disclosed. Physical vapor depositable (i.e., evaporable) dyes are codeposited with a polyester matrix in a vacuum system to randomly disperse dye molecules in a solid dilutant. The dyes are selected to absorb at the wavelengths of interest. Dilution in a transparent matrix affords narrow band absorption and good out of band transmittance. Multilayer configurations allow absorption of a plurality of wavelengths. The filter coating conforms to curved and sharply contoured surfaces and layers only 10 microns thick afford very high absorptance.

    摘要: A network architecture (100) that supports periodic and aperiodic data transmissions over a network databus. The network (100) comprising a plurality of Network Interface Controller (NIC) modules (120, 169) configured to communicate with each other with at least one of the modules acting as a master NIC modules (120) and configured to allocate data transmission bandwidth on the network databus (114) using a set of priority sequences stored in a table (158) accessible by the master NIC (154) within the master timing NIC module (120). The table (158) is used by the master NIC (120) to allocate bandwidth on the network databus (114) after transmission of periodic data and according to priority, length and frame sequence. In this way, aperiodic data from some NIC modules is guaranteed a certain amount of bandwidth on the network databus (114).

    摘要: A safety system receives access monitoring information from sensors to detect intrusion into a mutual exclusion zone by either an operator or mechanical equipment. The border of the mutual exclusion zone is segmented into portals that allow both the operator and equipment to access a common work area such as for loading material. When intrusion into one of the portals is detected, intrusion into any other selected portals triggers a safety violation. Access to the mutual exclusion zone via the other portals is prohibited until the interior of the zone is determined to be empty again.

    摘要: An amorphous diamond coating applied onto mirrored optics in an infrared motion sensor to block specific wavelengths of energy from a nullwhite lightnull source like a halogen lamp, without reducing the reflectivity of the mirror surface in the Mid-Infrared wavelengths. A specific thickness of diamond-like-coating is applied on top of the reflective metal surface of a mirrored part, thereby reducing the mirror's reflectivity at visible and near-Infrared wavelengths known to be problematic for IR motion sensors, such as those emitted from halogen lamps. The coating has no significant detrimental effect on mid-infrared reflectivity, so the IR motion sensor's performance is otherwise unaffected.
