The present invention provides a compound which is a polyether phosphate ester and which does not comprise an alkylene oxide residue. The invention also provides a composition which comprises: i) a polyether phosphate ester; ii) a mono-alcohol phosphate ester; and iii) a polyether which comprises at least two terminal C6 to C36 hydrocarbyl groups. Further aspects of the invention include an emulsion, a personal care formulation, uses and methods comprising the compound or composition of the invention.
Abstract:
Spray drift reductants for agrochemical formulations and methods for reducing spray drift in agrochemical formulations are disclosed. An agrochemical formulation may comprise at least one spray drift reductant comprising a fatty acid ester of a C3 to C8 polyol, or an oligomer thereof having from 2 to 5 repeat units. The formulation also comprises at least one agrochemical active and/or nutrient, and optionally, a clathrate compound. A sprayable agrochemical formulation may comprise 0.01 wt. % to 1.0 wt. % of a spray drift reductant that is non-ionic, non-self-emulsifiable, has a hydrophilic-lipophilic balance of less than 7, and is capable of reducing spray drift by at least 10%, and also comprises at least on agrochemical active and/or nutrient, and optionally, a clathrate compound.

A dialkyl amidoamine which is the reaction product of a polyamine, a monocarboxylic acid, or a triglyceride or derivative thereof, and optionally an epoxide-containing compound is described. The dialkyl amidoamine may be used as a conditioning agent or anti-frizz agent useful in personal care applications, particularly in the conditioning of hair. The preparation and use of a conditioning agent and an anti-frizz agent comprising the dialkyl amidoamine are also described.

A method of separating oil from a composition containing an oil and water emulsion, by adding a separation additive which is a mixture of a fatty ester of an alkoxylated polyol and a fatty ester of alkoxylated glycerol, and performing at least one oil separation step. The method is particularly suitable for separating corn oil from stillage produced in a corn ethanol mill.

The present invention relates to a lubricant base stock, a lubricant composition, a method of lubricating an object and the use of a lubricant base stock. The lubricant base stock comprises a first ester which is the reaction product of: a first polyol comprising at least 3 hydroxyl groups; a first mono-carboxylic acid comprising from 4 to 18 carbon atoms; and a poly-carboxylic acid comprising at least 2 carboxyl groups and comprising from 20 to 60 carbon atoms. The lubricant base stock also comprises a second ester which is the reaction product of: a second polyol comprising at least 3 hydroxyl groups; and a second mono-carboxylic acid comprising from 4 to 18 carbon atoms.

A method of separating oil from a liquid stillage is disclosed. The stillage includes an aqueous phase and an oil phase. The method comprises adding a separation additive to the stillage and performing at least one separation operation on the stillage to separate an amount of the oil phase from the stillage. The separation additive comprises an ester of an alkoxylated non-cyclic polyol and a fatty acid.

The present invention is directed to alkoxylated alcohol alkyl ethers. In some embodiments, these ethers include a very short chain ether end cap, such as a methyl or ethyl group. In some embodiments, the long chain fatty alcohol used is unsaturated and/or branched. In some embodiments, a compound of the invention includes: R1O—(PO)n—R2 (Formula Xa) wherein P is a branched alkyl group having 3 carbons; n is an integer ranging from 2 to 10; R1 is a branched or unsaturated hydrocarbon having 16 to 24 carbons which are substituted or unsubstituted; and wherein R2 is a methyl group. In some embodiments, n is 3 and R1 is an isostearyl group.

Ethoxylated fatty acid mono-ester(s) of sorbitan with a fatty acid chain length from 8 to 14 and an overall degree of ethoxylation from 7 to 16 are new (though related to the polysorbates). These compounds are useful as adjuvants in agrochemical formulations, particularly combination formulations of herbicides having differing weed control effects, notably of non-selective herbicide and selective herbicide; particularly selective herbicide, particularly selective broadleaf herbicide, and graminicide; and selective graminicide and non-selective herbicide, especially a combination of a glyphosate type non-selective water soluble herbicide with a clethodim type selective (graminicide) herbicide, particularly to reduce or eliminate antagonism between differing types of herbicide. Formulations including such herbicide combinations and the adjuvant compounds are particularly useful in controlling weed including volunteer glyphosate resistant maize in subsequently sown glyphosate resistant soya.

A corrosion inhibitor composition for use in coating compositions on metal surfaces, or in metal containers, to provide corrosion resistance to said metals. The corrosion inhibitor comprises at least one alkoxylated phosphate ester; and at least one borate ester. The corrosion inhibitor composition optionally comprises at least one inorganic metal salt. There is also provided an end-use coating composition comprising said corrosion inhibitor composition, and a method of providing corrosion resistance to a metal surface by applying said coating composition thereto.

Alkoxylated esters of dicarboxylic or tricarboxylic acids have an anti-irritating activity measured as a reduction in intracellular leakage of sodium fluorescein of 15% or more at 1:50 dilution or 40% or more at 1:100 dilution from a test composition containing 5% of the alkoxylated ester. These alkoxylated esters are useful in cosmetic and personal care products, especially in products such as baby shampoos, hand dishwashing liquids and bubble bath preparations. A method of reducing irritation provides for application of an irritant with the alkoxylated esters to the subject in a personal care or cosmetic product.
