摘要: This disclosure includes absorbent articles comprising first and second absorbent cuffs to prevent leaks. The present articles can comprise a chassis having opposing front and rear portions and a crotch portion extending longitudinally between the front and rear portions. An absorbent core can extend longitudinally along the crotch portion, and the first and second absorbent cuffs can extend longitudinally along the crotch portion as well. The absorbent cuffs can be positioned such that at least a portion of the absorbent core is positioned between the absorbent cuffs, and each can comprise a liftable portion and one or more elastics configured to urge the liftable portion away from the chassis and toward a wearer when the absorbent article is worn. Absorbent or hydrophobic end caps can extend across the ends of the absorbent cuffs.

摘要: An absorbent structure including a dryness layer laminate is disclosed, with the structure suitable for use in disposable absorbent products such as for infant or incontinence care. The dryness layer laminate is positioned adjacent an associated absorbent core, between the absorbent core and the wearer, for enhancing surface dryness and comfort for the wearer. The dryness layer laminate comprises adhesive fibers or filaments, and particulate superabsorbent, and is configured to permit liquid to pass through the laminate to the associated absorbent core, while acting to remove liquid from the surface of the absorbent structure positioned adjacent to the wearer.

摘要: A diagnostic sheet for use in conjunction with a disposable absorbent garment is disclosed. The diagnostic sheet may be operable to wick fluid vertically, and includes one or more diagnostic elements and a radio frequency identification device (RFID). The one or more diagnostic elements may be integrated with the diagnostic sheet and positioned at a first region of the diagnostic sheet, and the RFID may be integrated with the diagnostic sheet and positioned proximate the first region. In the presence of the fluid, each of the one or more diagnostic elements may be configured to indicate a result of a particular diagnostic test. In the presence of the fluid, the RFID may be configured to provide an indication that the fluid wicked by the diagnostic sheet has reached the one or more diagnostic elements.

摘要: This disclosure includes embodiments of disposable absorbent articles and methods of making disposable absorbent articles that include closures with a web of material and hook fasteners that are unitary with the web. For example, some of the present disposable absorbent articles include diapers or briefs with closure members, such as back ears or front ears, defined at least in part by a nonwoven web with hook fasteners that are unitary with the nonwoven web. Use of such unitary hook fasteners allows simpler construction of such articles and/or softer closure members for improved fit and user comfort, and/or other benefits. Certain embodiments of the present methods can manufacture such absorbent articles with fewer manufacturing steps or processes and/or fewer raw materials, relative to those required to manufacture prior art absorbent articles with hook fastener patches that are added by application of a separate piece of material that includes the hook fasteners.

摘要: Diapers are made with substantial reduction of waste using a composite web of diaper main body material having a liquid impervious outer layer, a liquid pervious inner layer and an absorbent intermediate layer there between. The composite web has an indeterminate longitudinal extent substantially intact and uncut with parallel lateral side edge margins for substantially the entire web length. An independent web of diaper tab material is cut into discrete tab sections of predetermined mating shapes with substantially no unused waste material. The tab sections are affixed to the opposite edge margins of, and at regular longitudinal spacings along, the composite web. The composite web is cut transversely at regular longitudinal intervals there along corresponding to the spacings of the tab sections to produce discrete diapers each having a generally rectangular main body and four tabs at the respective corners of the main body.
