    摘要: A battery protection circuit has two input nodes and two output nodes. The input nodes are connected to a positive supply line and a negative or ground line respectively, and the two output nodes are connected to a positive side of a load and a negative or ground return side of the load. The circuit includes a solid state switch which is oriented such that when the switch is open current cannot flow from the battery through the load. At least one capacitor is connected in series with a diode between the two input nodes of the circuit to smooth out any negative transient voltages present at the positive input node of the circuit. The capacitor includes a polarized capacitor and the diode is oriented to protect the capacitor during normal use when a positive voltage is present at the input node that is connected to the positive supply line.

    摘要: A supply voltage monitoring apparatus for use in an automotive vehicle, having a circuit comprising, an analogue-to-digital converter having an input receiving an analogue voltage signal and an output outputting a digital signal, and an input stage connecting the input of the ADC to the power supply at a point where the value of the link voltage is to be measured. An input stage comprises a potential divider having an upper resistance R1 and a lower resistance R2, the two resistances R1, R2 connected in series two nodes. A first node provides a connection to the link voltage. A second node provides a connection to ground. A centre tap of a potential divider is connected to the input of the ADC. A switchable lower resistance R3 is connected in series with a switch S between the centre tap and the ground, and a control circuit which is arranged to hold the switch S open when the voltage at the centre tap is below a threshold value and to hold the switch closed when the voltage at the centre tap is above the threshold value.

    摘要: A microprocessor system for a vehicle steer-by-wire steering apparatus, comprising: a hand wheel actuator controller, comprising first and second microprocessors, and arranged to provide control signals for a hand wheel actuator of the steering apparatus; a front axle actuator controller, comprising first and second microprocessors, and arranged to provide control signals for a front axle actuator of the steering apparatus; first and second private buses connecting the first microprocessor of the hand wheel actuator controller to the first microprocessor of the front axle actuator controller. The first private bus has a physical layer over which data can be transmitted with a first data link format and a second data link format different to the first data link layer format. The second private bus connects the second microprocessor of the hand wheel actuator controller to the second microprocessor of the front axle actuator controller. The second private bus comprises a physical layer over which data can be transmitted with either the first or second data link format. The microprocessor system is arranged to switch from the first state to the second state upon one of the first or second microprocessors of the hand wheel actuator controller or the front axle actuator controller determining that there is a fault on the first or second private bus.
