    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a first and a second image forming sections, a paper feeding section, and a paper output section. The image forming sections form an image on paper independently. The apparatus is laterally dividable into a first and a second portions where the first and second image forming sections are respectively positioned. The feeding section is arranged below the first image forming section in the first portion. The output section is arranged above the second image forming section in the second portion. The apparatus has two simple transport paths that run vertically through the image forming sections, respectively, without intersecting each other and detouring around the second or first image forming section.

    摘要: A drive unit which can prevent the decrease of the luminance of a self-luminous device due to degradation or a change is electric characteristic thereof. The drive unit has a semiconductor device having an electric characteristic almost the same as the that of the self-luminous device, and drives the semiconductor device in accordance with the frequency of light emission of the self-luminous device. The device generates a characteristic change detection signal indicating the degree of a change in an electric characteristic of the semiconductor device, and supplies the self-luminous device with a drive signal having a current level or a voltage level based on the characteristic change detection signal.

    摘要: An active matrix organic electroluminescence unit which is easy to manufacture. The organic electroluminescence unit comprises an organic material layer formed on a surface of the electrode panel, a dielectric layer formed near the organic material layer on the surface of the electrode panel, a metal electrode formed continuous to the surfaces of the organic material layer and the dielectric layer, and having a portion corresponding to the organic material layer functioning as a control electrode, and an organic electroluminescence element formed on the organic material layer. According to a second aspect, the organic electroluminescence unit comprises an insulating film for covering a protruding electrode formed at a position near an intersection with a data line on a scanning line, and formed with data lines and first metal electrodes, respectively, on the surface thereof, a first organic material layer for covering each of these data lines, first metal electrodes and insulating film, an electrode panel, a second organic material layer formed on the surface of the electrode panel, a second metal electrode formed continuous to be in contact with each of the surface of the second organic material layer and each of the first metal electrodes, with a portion corresponding to the second organic material layer functioning as a gate electrode, and an organic electroluminescence element formed on the second organic material layer.
