摘要： The present invention provides a method of controlling bacteria or fungi which comprises contacting therewith a zinc compound and at least one member selected from among hinokitiol and salts thereof; a method of treating infectious diseases caused by bacteria or fungi which comprises administering a zinc compound and at least one member selected from among hinokitiol and salts thereof; and a method of preserving cosmetics which comprises adding thereto a zinc compound and at least one member selected from among hinokitiol and salts thereof.

摘要： Zinc salts, zinc complexes or salts thereof of a compound selected from the group consisting of nicotinamides, picolinamides, 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acids, amino acids, peptides, hinokitiols and pyridine carboxylic acids represented by formula (1): ##STR1## possess a metallothionein inducing effect, effect of suppressing the production of sunburn cells, and therefore, useful as cosmetics and as drugs which are for ameliorating sunburn, preventing sunburn, ameliorating skin diseases, relieving irradiation disorders, and the like.
