摘要: An apparatus for assembling a hanging file folder and method is provided. A folder blank is received at a crimping station whereat a pair of prefabricated suspension rails are each dispensed from a respective hopper to folder a blank. Each one of the pair of suspension rails is dispensed to respective first and second opposed edges of the folder blank. The apparatus is provided with a folder rail dispensing system including plural pneumatically activated actuators for selectively separating a folder rail from a clip of folder rails held within the hopper and reorienting the folder rail into engagement with the folder blank. The folder rail is moved into engagement with the folder blank so as to be located within a gap defined by a hammer bar and an anvil bar, wherein the hammer and anvil bars crimp the prefabricated folder rail upon the folder blank.

摘要: A file folder and fastener combination wherein the folder has a major flap along one edge of the folder and a pair of spaced, colinearly aligned, elongated minor flaps formed in said folder or major flap and separated by a medial portion of the folder or major flap. The fastener has a central body portion overlying one surface of the medial portion of the folder or major flap. Elongated prongs extend from opposite ends of the central body portion of the fastener and overlie the minor flaps of the folder or major flap on the opposite surface of the folder or major flap from the surface upon which the central portion of the fastener is located. The major flap of the folder is folded against the folder and secured thereto so as to sandwich the central portion of the fastener between the folder and the major flap. Alternatively, instead of a major flap formed on one edge of the folder, the central body portion of the fastener may be covered by a separate strip of material.

摘要: An apparatus is provided for binding a single printed sheet with top and bottom binders to form a single sheet calendar. The apparatus includes a binder feeding mechanism for positioning the top and bottom binders relative to the single printed sheet. The apparatus includes first and second spaced, parallel binding units for respectively securing the top and bottom binders to the single sheet, with the first binding unit having an upper member and a lower member to define a sheet-receiving channel there between. At least one of the upper member or the lower member is heated, and at least one of the upper member or the lower member is controllably movable relative to the other of the upper member or the lower member, to secure one of the binders to the single sheet.

摘要: An environmentally friendly single sheet calendar is provided, which includes a single sheet of printed material having first and second opposed edges and first and second opposed faces. A non-metallic, biodegradable binder is disposed along the first edge, with the binder including a rigid bar and a securing element for coupling the rigid bar to the first face of the single sheet. The securing element may, for example, include a layer of adhesive for adhesively coupling the rigid bar to the first face. The adhesive may, for example, be heat activatable.
