摘要: Electronic patch circuitry interconnects a wire telephone line with the base station transmitter and receiver of a simplex two-way radio communication system, for causing VOX-type operation with very fast voice-operated keying between transmitter and receiver. The system is operable in a telephone line priority mode in which it responds to telephone line audio signals for keying the transmitter on and the receiver off regardless of whether or not the receiver is on at the time, and is also operable in an "anti-VOX" mode. An automatic telephone line connector circuit responds to telephone ringing signals on the telephone line at the base station. The circuit then transmits a coded signal to a remote radio transceiver, which can return a signal to "answer" the base station telephone and connect it to the patch circuitry. Automatic dialing means are provided for initiating a telephone call from the remote radio transceiver. Timing circuitry holds the base transmitter off for a short time immediately after each telephone line connection to insure monitoring of the radio channel by the telephone subscriber before he can transmit. Additional transmit-on timers key the base transmitter off if it is on too long. The system "hangs up" the base station telephone after predetermined timed events or when dial tone occurs to prevent tie-up of the interconnection by the telephone line party.

摘要: A simplified currency dispenser especially adapted for use at high volume low dollar amount transaction locations. The dispenser is adapted alternatively to transport a selected mix of currency notes from first and second supplies to a delivery location and to display the dollar value of the delivered notes or to transport notes from only one of the supplies to the delivery location and to display the number of notes transported. The dispenser includes a first key pad and display on the dispenser housing for use during a counting operation and a remote key pad and display for use during a dispenser operation. The housing is made in upper and lower sections for ease of manufacture and servicing. It is adapted for either countertop installation or below the counter installation.

摘要: Sensors in the infeed and output stackers, under control of the microprocessor, monitor the sheets. The apparatus is started automatically by placing sheets in the infeed. A count of the sheets is developed and displayed as the sheets are fed. When the infeed is empty and the output contains sheets, the count is retained. If sheets are removed from the outfeed, the count is retained and is reset only after more sheets are placed in the input. The same rules obtain for batching. The sensors cooperate with singles, holes and doubles detectors and have their gain adjusted depending upon sheet density. Automatic threshold adjustment circuits compensate for dust build-up and component aging. Upon sheet detection, the sensing circuit threshold level is instantaneously shifted to prevent an abrupt change in intensity from the sheet covering the sensor to provide an erroneous indication of the presence of a subsequent sheet or sheets. The sensors assure accurate counting even through sheets are fed in skewed and/or overlapping fashion. An amplifier normally in saturation is driven out of saturation when light intensity drops to increase the ability to determine the transmissivity to distinguish between single and double sheets. Operating speed may be reduced from normal speed. All timing is automatically readjusted according to the selected operating speed. The control circuitry may be coupled to and synchronized with a denominations counter and printer. The doubles detection circuit may also discriminate between two and three overlapped sheets.

摘要: A sheet length detector with skew compensation for use in apparatus for batching and counting currency, food stamps or the like. Sheets are advanced past a pair of sheet sensors which are disposed at transversely spaced locations on the feed path on either side of the nip formed by a pair of opposing feed members. A timing interval is begun upon the actuation of both sheet sensors and ended upon the deactuation of both sensors following their initial actuation. The duration of the timing interval provides a measure of sheet length. This measure is then corrected for skew, which is determined from the time lapse, if any, between the deactuation of one sensor and the deactuation of both sensors. The corrected measure may be compared with an absolute reference or with the results of a previous length measurement.

摘要: A magnetic sensor including a coil for sensing a changing magnetic field developed by paper currency moving past the magnetic sensor. A capacitor forms a tuned circuit with the magnetic sensor coil to pass only those signals lying within a predetermined frequency range. A comparator compares the signals lying within the pass band with a predetermined threshold to determine the presence or absence of genuine currency. The tuned circuit significantly improves the signal to noise ratio of the sensing means and hence, significantly improves the ability to determine the genuineness of the currency. In a second embodiment, the presence of a magnetic field having a field strength above the predetermined threshold is utilized to pass timing pulses for clocking a counter. A decoder gate coupled to the counter indicates the presence of a genuine bill, only after a predetermined count has been reached. A reset circuit is provided for resetting the detecting circuitry immediately after each bill is examined and before examination of the next bill.

摘要: A currency counter for counting currency notes withdrawn from a supply and advancing the notes one by one along a path past a density detector and a magnetic material detector to a stacker at a delivery location upon energization of a common drive motor in which an amplifier responsive to the density detector is automatically calibrated each time the counter starts and in which density and motor current signals are combined for doubles detection. The motor speed is adjusted for document length to provide a predetermined number of counts per minute. An adaptive counterfeit check is made. The motor is deenergized at the end of a batch count and momentarily reenergized to ensure that the last note of the batch is stacked.
